I have HIDS in all my sleds. Just picked up my new viper and wondering if I should try the LED headlights out. Anyone run LEDs? I can tell you my new acura with its stock LED bulbs are way brighter than the old one w HIDs.

We have LED in the blue/white xtx and they are cheap on Amazon. Plug and play. They are a good improvement over stock bulbs but not as bright as HID. The high/low does not seam to change the beam very much since the reflector housing/bulb was never designed for LEDs. If you don't ride much at night LEDs would be a great improvement over OEM otherwise I would just go with rocks HIDs so you have high low beam. I heard Rock was working on a LED with a better angle so the high/low works but I don't know the status of that?

Yes the pattern is the big issue. My buddy had led on his 7000 for a while and the whiteness of the light was really nice. Seemed to go as far as my HID but maybe it's just because the light was so white. Not sure how long the fans on the led is going to last either. Would be nice for a secondary light.

Just a note on the fans. The cheap Amazon bulbs we got came with add on fans but we didn't put them on, there was clearance issues with the fans if I remember right so just left them off. I am sure they would have failed covered in snow anyways! The back of the bulbs have lots of metal fins to act as a heat sink plus its cold outside. We have one season on them, no issues and the LED's don't show signs of over heating without the fans. I agree with Cannandale the light is very white and reaches out a long ways, a lot better then stock.
What number is the headlight on the viper are they H4 or H7?

Agreed. H4
Thanks guys. I just ordered LEDs on Amazon Canada and they where $32.95 each.
I have Rocks HIDs on my viper and love them.... just my 2 cents...
I have had two different hid sets in my attak and I now have two and a half sets of hids because both sets have burn out ballist. I find them not reliable . But they are nice when they are both working.
