Mountain performance offer 13:1 compression ratio piston,my question is can i drop piston 13:1 in apex motor with a PCIII and make it work?
How much HP could i see with a mod like this?

Good question!
I was wondering the exact same thing! If these motors run 11:5:1 on 87 octane they could easily run 15:1 on 94 octane, this with cam changes and porting would increase H.P. to 180 and maybe beable to squeeze a little more. I would like to run 14 or 15to1 and tune it in with the programmer and all the other goodies, pipe, full Excell Header to pipe and cams. This would be a torque MONSTER and I think I would be happy with 180 H.P. on a 93 octane or 100LL Av gas. I would be all over this package if someone would sell it as a complete set up! Allen....I hope your listening to this one......COME ON Ulmer Racing...build us a NA azz kicker of a package that we can smack down those Cats with!

Hauck and Dynoray
Well I spoke with Dynoray a few years back and he was reasonable but I've heard from some reliable guys his screw ups are getting more and more....unfortunately. He was great for our sport and the 4 stroke NA guys. Hauck makes some strokers etc. but I've also read guys complaints about reliability....so I'm a little concerned about either of them doing anything to my sled.
I would love to be able to by a kit with pistons, cams, header, timing degree's recommended, and fuel curve with box to match the whole package with a DYNO proven number that I would achieve. If I could buy the parts I would have an engine shop I trust do the install and be happy. Maybe some day I suppose.

If there was that much to gain alot more guys would be doing it. You would be better off to boost it. There is just not much to squeeze out of that motor. Do the exhaust, airbox, PCIII/Ignition controller, synthetic oil, plugs and you will be around 165hp. Cluthc and gear it.

For the money he owse you you should drive up there and get it back in PERSON!!! Would you elaborate on your experience please, di the cams he provided increase H.p. as promised and how about higher compression or porting....you used to sell the Performer kit of his which claimed 175 h.p...details would be appreciated!

Those dyno gains have never been proven that I have read. It looks like anyone that starts boreing, stroking, NA mods the engine doesn't last. Lots on here and I know of a guy with a fix powersports rocket kit that blew through the case.
I wanted a NA screamer myself, just the sound of 11,000 rpm would be intoxicating but relable doesn't belong in the same sentance.
I found nitrous to be the best stock relability with turbo speed for 30 seconds at a crack.

Back to the original question, roughy 1 pt of CR is = to 2% power increase. so if your at 150hp now it would be worth around 3hp.
