homemade carbide pipe shim thread

The link to the homemade carbide pipe shim doesn't work anymore. Why did this get removed?

I remember that topic. I think the topic was mentioned in early 2009 under the nytro general section. The person had cut around a two inch long pipe in half and mounted that underneath the wearbar. That worked similar to the duallys.

I did it on my 04 Warrior and it worked GREAT for years! I'm now doing it on my new sled 2011 Apex. Here's how, I used Stainless Pipe about 6" Long 1 1/2" ID. You cut down the length of it at about 1/3 of the cross section, 45 degree angle cut on each corner, grind out the edges into a smooth transition. Take your Carbide and mark the holes for drilling on the front section of the Carbide's 2 holes. Once your holes are drilled you will take your ski and mark where it will sit. Using a Rotary file on a drill you will cradle the bottom of the ski enough so that your skegs will sit properly without the section of pipe being loose!
