Anyone out there make a salt shield for the trailer? I just bought a new to me 2 place the other day but it has no shield and I'm not about the spend $300 for a plastic one. Just looking for some ideas on a homemade shield. If you have pictures please post. Thanks!

deeppowe16 I made one for mine with 1\2 plywood, doubled the sides, used screws and PL Premium glue. i still needs to add a stabilizer bracket that goes to the frame. Maby not as neat as aluminum one but it sure does the trick!! here's a few pics

O that looks nice! That's kinda what I was thinking about doing. From a distance you wouldn't even know its homemade. Thanks for the pics!

Looks good. Do you still cover it? Assuming so...

I used an old pontoon tube to fab one up, one of those hexagon shaped ones and used 1/2 the diameter! If you we’re closer I’d say swing by a pick up a section, I have enough pontoon left for another shield or two.

That's a good idea. I have seen people cut plastic 55 gal barrels in half and use them for a shield but I find them to look super cheap. I have never thought about using pontoons before. Maybe I'll have to find me one.

This is how I went when I had a drive on and off. Course this was before I got them painted all black. Worked good just pull them outa the brackets and throw in the truck and put the ramp on front
