This project took a lot longer then I thought. Between the last builder having issues with this build
, a divorce that slowed down last years progress, weather issues, and murphys law it wasn't going to plan. So I called up Mac at MPI and asked him who should be the guy to finish and fine tune this sled. He said Dave at Hurricane. I spoke with Dave and he heard the story of what was going on. He then said he would take on the project. I had to meet him at the races in Michigan this fall. For him to get her across teh border through Port Huron. What an ordeal that was, and what a saint Dave, and his wife were with that issue. (Another story for another day). Dave took care of every little thing he didn't care for on her and built her to be a dependable trail sled on boost. He had unforseen issues with with her being someone else tried the build first, but got her done in time. He was nothing but proffessional, and friendly. The service was unbelievable with the crew, his wife, and himself. Once again murphy's law happened again as soon as she got back from Canada with this darn weather. Sled gets back in time for the next trip, and we get 60 degree temps, and no snow. Snow limited from Chicago to the U.P
. Well here is what we have to date:
Low compression pistons
heavy duty rods
Hurricane head studs
Hurricane cam work
larger MPI fuel pump, injectors, and lines
RB3 with Daves mapping
MPI stage two s/c set at 14lb's on pump gas
meth injection, with custom rear tank setup
4-post clutch
One way or another the sled has been changed from the new front suspension to the appearance to the motor work.
If it wasn't for Dave this sled would of been probably parted out or still waiting. With my work schedule, the lack of testing time or snow around here, and the lack of tooling it just would of been a never ending project. So thank you to all the TY vendors that gave ideas, and members that gave advice during this. Here are her pics to date. Now for some snow
