Yamaha answer to get the grips to heat up. SMA-HOTGP-HK-00 hooked bars. SMA-HOTGP-ST-00 Straight bars

Do they really work is my question.I see they are $83 from Port Yamaha. Its alot of money if they dont work.Shane

The GRIPS aren't the problem...its the ECU not putting out enough juice at lower rpm's. Rock's kit is your best invesment to get HOT!!! hands.

Why would they sell an update kit that doesnt work?? All of the complaining about handwarmers and yam finally come with an update kit that doesn't work?? haha wouldn't look good for them i wouldn't think. By the way it looks a guy can get a couple update kits and still have some $$ to spare for the price of one of rocks kit. that and you dont have to drill a hole for a toggle switch and light. I seen the yamaha kit at haydays and it looked to me like it was exactly like the RSI kits. So i just got the rsi and saved a few bucks.

the yamaha kits come with 3 wire elements, grips, and grip glue.

it comes complete new elements, glue, and grips these are going to be 30% warmer than stock and it is the RSI kit

Isn't that what happened the last time they offered the new bars and grips for the 06 models? Rock's kit is great.

If this is TRUE...30% more is still not enough, I'd like to know at what RPM'S they get 30% more, 'cuz at lower rpm the ECU is just not producing enough juice to make any difference, my '08 barely had heat at lower speeds, even with GAUNTLET'S! I guess time will tell...I went with Rock's and work to my expectations.

I'll get it at $85. I can't see $175 for my type of usage. At half the price of a kit from Rock and OEM approved. 30% more is good. I've been rideing now for 3 years stock so this will be good.
Now to get my local dealer to sell for $85.
If you ride in sub zero temps all the time then Rocks will be even better.
I haven't found it yet at Port or Yamis site. I found some they reduced to $45 these might be the RSI's type as the numbers are different then posted above. So maybe this is a good kit.. :jump:

hot

i have rock's heaters it is a good fix, 3yrs later yamaha has one, all i know is i won't be one to try them. i thought people said they are listening
3 yrs to fix?

I ran the RSI grips last year on both my Nytro and Phazer, it helped a little on the Nytro, but still not enough and can't tell any difference on the Phazer. If the Yamaha kit is just grips, elements and wires, then I am going with the Rock. Also, the RSI grips don’t hold up as well as the stock grips, they will rip open after awhile.

I can tell you this much...right from a horses mouth "there will still be guys crying on the 2010's" so my guess is this kit will not be anywhere near as good as Rocks kit is. IMO his kit is the bomb. The thing just flat out works...period. For whatever cost difference there is I personally could care less. I want hot grips...
And I know he has been thanked by many...but again...Thanks Rock!!!
