Houghton Ride this year Dec18 - 20th... need some help

Well I called the Ramada Inn in Houghton/Hancock and it looks like the entire Hotel is booked for a wedding that weekend..." Who the hell gets Married in DEC", any way. I need a new hotel to for Dec 18th thru the 20th and I am NOT willing to pull it up another weekend in Dec. I am all ears.. talk to me.

Best Western on the other side of the bridge (Houghton side)? Trail runs right up to it, some covered sled parking available, large parking lot for trailers, gas station right next to it. I haven't stayed there in years though. Actually I think it is now called the Magnuson.

Just taking a quick map look there are others ... Holiday Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Super 8, etc.

Yes - I see that. I'm only familiar with the one on Sheldon Ave on the Houghton side. I do remember that the pool kinda sucks, and the restaurant on the top floor was overpriced for what you got. Small bar too .... us TYers need room to stretch!!!! ......But again - haven't been there in years, and back then it was a Best Western. It could all be different now.

I have stayed at the Americinn in Calument couple years ago. Was a Nice place, would recommend. No bar in the Hotel though.

I got my room booked too.Excited for my first Houghton Ty Ride.
I been going on rides since Jan 2006 but this one has just never worked for me until now!
I will also be on a new sled that I have to break in!
