guys,
When installing my PMT steering relocator, the front end of the sled had to be lifted off the ground. Not knowing any better, I lifted the sled by the subframe where the circle cut out is...thinking that was a lift point. Well, I noticed a little crinkle now in the flat metal around it(very small). Do I need a new subframe now? I have logged 0 miles on this thing and would be really upset if I have to fix it now.

I highly doubt it. The oem gusset plate with the hole is very thin. It does its job by bracing the subframe tubes laterally....unless this was from a nose hit previous to you simply locating the jack there it shouldn't be a problem. Tweaking or denting that material upwards like that is a minor to no issue.

If the gusset plate was krinkled from havinbeen twisted by the tubular subframe then it would be a symptom of them having bent and there would likely be a tweaked front end.

Although the Nytro subframe is pretty limpwristed it isn't so bad as to get tweaked jacking the sled up!! ....njow an XP Bombi....maybe! LOLLOL

Post a picture. The guys on this forum will steer you in the wright direction. :rocks:

It would be doubtful that you bent your subframe BUT I would think that you have weakened the bracing for the subframe. If I were you I would read up on bent subframes so you can clearly identify if you tweak yours out riding. Plus the first thing I would do is get a Grizz gusset kit a.s.a.p! With the factory support bent like that it is not a matter of IF, but it is a matter of WHEN you do bend your subframe.

I definitely think I'll be bracing that area. It was only the metal plate that was dimpled. In the future, where should I lift the front end on a jack? I can't believe how weak that area is!

Use a board or plate large enough to span across the width of the frame so you distribute the weight better. I doubt the frame itself has been compromised but I'd cut that out and weld in a heavier gauged plate. The stock center gusset is useless and is nothing more than an indicator that lets you know when the frame has been tweaked.

if I were take anyone's opinion as gospel.... it would have to be grizztracks as he probably looked at and fixed more sub-frames than anyone

You guys rock! Thanks again for the help. I know it won't be the last time
