Yep that was me that posted a comparison of my bulkhead with skid plate after nailing a boulder (see attachment it should jog your memory) vs yours without one.

The attachment I posted is a little more detailed than my description. It will help you make sure both skis are tracking straight rather, than just adjusting the one side so it is parallel to the other. Doing the later could make your ski point straight while the bas are turned one direction or the other.

Alright, well I just followed the instructions, I think I got it as close as its going to get. It looks perfect to me. Didn't take 5 minutes to do it. Thanks for the instructions Jim.

I got my right side knuckle bent badly from crashing into a boulder. I did replace the knuckle but it was impossible to get the ski alignment right after replacing the knuckle. I had to adjust the steering tie rods to its limit to get proper ski alignment, not much treads left holding the tie rod. I figure that the ski spindle got twisted on the impact. I did also try to move the steering arm 1 tooth on the spline but it went to much in and I wasn't able to adjust the tie rods accordingly to get proper alignment. I may have to replace the right side steering spindle to correct my problem.

Yeah, Im thinking the same thing rxrider. I had my spindle pressed instead of having to replace it. I would guess it's twisted though. I got the tie rods to work, and they aren't at their limits. Is it at problem having to adjust the rods and never putting them back to where they were?

No problems, that's why the tie rods and rod ends have a lot of thread length to them, for adjustability. My problem is that, to get the right side (crashed) correct, I had to adjust the left side tie rods out until there were only 10 mm of threads holding the tie rod in place, I feel that is too little. It is a scary tought having it come loose at 130+ MPH at the lake.

rxrider; you might want to try slipping the spindle out one tooth and see if you can get the skis to go parallel by turning both tie rods in. It shouldn't matter which spindle you turn out one tooth. After you do that proceed with step 5 on the instructions I posted and see if you can get the handlebars back to the straight position by adjusting the steering rod between the post and the linkage for the tie rods. I don't know how much adjustment is on the steering rod but, in theory it should work.

BlgsRX-1mtn - I did try that but there was not enough treads on the tie rods to get them adjusted out to parallell, they went toe in no matter what I tried. My right side spindle must have got twisted on impact with that rock. I am looking for lightweight parts for my front suspension to shed some weight up front, new LW spindles are on my list.
