I have 2845 miles on my 06 Apex RTX. I have the Yes Plan for 3 more years and hope to get over 10,000 miles before I get rid of it. Like everybody else last year I was not able to start riding until after january due to snow conditions. I hope to get over 3500 miles riding this season if everything turns out good.

1906 miles on my 07 RTX that I picked up new on March 2, 2007. My Vector had 6k or so on it when I traded. My dad just sold his 03 rx-1 with 13k on it.

Mileage
Here's a pic of the speedo on my 03 RX-1 Mountain ER with 28,173. It would have more, but I had 3 other sleds that I'd been riding that I actually sold last week. I had an 03 RX-1 shorty that I bought new, sold it last week with 14,853 miles, had an 05 RX-1ER that I bought new sold it last week with 9,384, and also sold my wife's 05 Vector which we bought used and it had 8,800. Also must add that I purchased the mountain used in 06, it had just turned 20,000. It is still tight like the first day it hit snow. If the speedo said 2000 miles you wouldn't know the difference, as there are no rattles or anything to give sign of mileage. Wow what a machine!

With easy access to great trails in Northern Maine, and Canada, sledders are able to put "Mega Miles" on their sleds!!!
Congrats Highmiler!!!
No bashing here, conservatively I'm guessing that would be 6 DOO motors! LOL...

Yep the reason I bought a four stroke was so I could keep it longer and not have to trade every two years. After three years and 8,000 miles I'm thinking 20,000 miles is still my goal and achievable!
After seeing 45,000 kms I know I can do it. New track, new skid and new bearings I should be able to hit that mark with ease. This is the reason we ride four strokes is it not? Durability of the motor!
I loved my big Cat triples, nothing like 172 horsepower in a screaming three banger. But reality is if you keep the motor on the fat side the pistons last but the bearings still go at about 10,000 miles. All my Cat buddies lost their bottom ends at about the same mileage. One guy made 16,000 miles on a 800 ZRT. Just one I know of.
So as I sat there nearing the 8,000 mile mark I was thinking rebuild at a cost of 2,000 bucks every couple years or go four stroke and run it till 20,000 and trade or sell it. As a groomed trail rider putting anywhere from 3,000 to 4,500 miles a year on. It just seemed like the four stroke was the way to go.
I was sceptical at first as I watched the 03's, then the 04's. When I saw my buds four stroke start at -36 am I had to put hair dryers on mine to warm it up so I could pull it over I was impressed. When I saw that they could stay together and get great mileage I was impressed. When I saw my bud carrying only clothes on long trips as I packed a couple gallons of oil I was impressed. When the 05's came out and I saw that Candy Red I was sold.
I bought the four stroke for one reason more than any other I bought it to tour. I bought it to eat up the miles on groomed trails and run year after year without engine malfuntion. All the rest was bonus!
As we can see I should have no trouble with my goal!

I have over 10,000 on my 2004 RX1 that I have riden for two years. I picked up a 2007 RTX end of March and rode it for 1 week and I put over 2,100 miles on her in that week. I had an SRX 700 that had over 20,000 miles on it and the motor had never been apart other than to clean the power valves. It was still running strong when I got rid of it for the RX1

Pretty impressive so far. Just goes to show you that when you are buying a 4-stroke sled that milage really isnt a factor. I know a lot of people wont even consider buying a used 2-stroke sled that has over 3,000 miles on it. I tried to sell my '01 600 XC recently for $1800 and with almost 7,000 miles on it a lot of people werent interested because of the milage.
The fact that many of you have over 10,000 miles on your sleds (and some have waaay over 10,000 miles) and you sleds dont rattle and arent falling apart just boggles the mind.
My Polaris has almost 7,000 miles on it and the darned thing rattles, shakes and sometimes I swear its gonna fall apart.
Thats about the only thing I dont like about this site, it makes me realize how foolish I was to buy a Polaris instead of a Yamaha. LOL Oh well.
