Great thread. I still have mine. I love this sled. The grin I get from riding it is priceless. To get it to where I wanted was over $18,000. I am embarrassed to admit, I hope my wife does not see this, but it is an awesome sled. Sure I would have like it to be lighter, but look at it this way, my friends buy new sleds every 2-3 years and they have probably spent more money during the time I have owned mine than what I have into my sled. I was thinking of going with an XTX this year, but after hearing that you should change the track and skis along with wanting more horsepower, I decided the cost was to great. I don't care what anyone says, my arse will always be on an AD Bovin suspension. There is nothing like it. For those who disagree, they typically have never ridden an X for any length of time. Quite simply a work of art for pure riding pleasure.

Never be embarrassed about the price tag for fuuuuuunnnnnn
If you spent that kind of money on poodle washing then hang your head in shame.

News Flash: I'm keeping my RX-1
The bottom line is, the wife and kids stopped me from selling it and I feel good about it. I typed a long story about this but, when I tried to post it, it didn't post and it was gone.

I believe I'll be keeping mine as well. I'm the second owner but I think that even if some new insane Yammie comes out I might buy it but I'll always have the fine RX out in the shed. Probably modify it with a Kachess treatment and some boost or something. Just put about a total of 6 inch rise on her today. Took the entire day but just workiing on the sled sorta makes me feel at home. Like it was made for me. I'm really happy buying it.

That's good to hear!
I need to change my oil now and give her a good look over.
I'm looking forward to putting on snow eliminators, the two wheel kit for the rear axle (I'm going to make mine three wheels) and I also plan to take a Cat vertically adjustable steering column and modify it to work on my RX-1 so I can move the bars up and down for particular applications.

Anyone here ever put underglow on their rx? I've been thinking about blue underglow for a while now but am afraid to buy because light pods on running boards seem very easy to tear off. Any suggestions?

I am picking up an 08 MTX 153 on Monday, but it has no track. I am on the hunt for one. I am still keeping the RXM. I will be selling my SRX to offset the cost.

I got the 2 wheel kit for the rear axle and the snow eliminators done tonight.
The snow eliminators would sure be a lot better if the stock cooling tubes weren't right under them. I have a plan to remedy that, later.
I'm glad at least a few of us decided to NOT part out our sleds because they were worth more money that way.

I am still planning on under the tunnel exhaust one of these days along with installing the Apex seat. Funds are on the extreme edge right now, so that will have to wait. I did buy some Apex bars, Yamaheater, and hunting for risers, but that is on hold now too. The Yamaheater will go on the Nytro MTX and the RXM will stay as is.

Whatever you do RX1MPete do not buy fly risers and pivot for your Rx. I got a set for x-mas and we were 2 days modifying them so they would fit on the bars and actually hold them without slipping. They were supposed to be made for my year of Yammie but there was no way to get them on there right without modifications. Mods include cuttin some plastic off the gas tank cowl, shaving some metal off the pivot, tapering the top part of the blocks so they would cup the curve in the bars, and then trying to find a way to make them grip the bars without moving when you give a good pluck on it. I cut deep groves into the bars and blocks and then put locktight in around everything, the risers look sick but are definately not worth it when you can find blacks that actually fit.

When I do shop around for risers, I will be installing the lake effects. I checked out their website and you can co-oridinate colours etc.

It has returned to the usual temperature, but I had some fun riding around during what we consider mild weather (-5 to -25) in six inches of powder....LOL
If the wind hadn't picked up, we would have had a foot or more and this is nothing to sneeze at since we usually never have powder snow...Last time, in 1996, we actually had almost four feet of powder.
Usually happens during El Nino years, where our cold weather gets sent down south and we get mild winters, lots of snow and multiple blizzards (usually only have two a year).
