How many of you Apex guys run only 96 studs up the center. I'm really undecided on picking my sled. I just want enough to get decent traction out of the hole, a little extra grip and a little better braking. I don't want to have a ton to deal with. I was thinking of running just 96 woody's megabites up the center. From the guys i ride with im getting mixed emotions, some say don't pick it, some say pick it with just 96. The my hard core race buddies say 96 will not be enough but they are race bias. They want the hole shot.

What do you guys think?

I voted 144 down the center. Same pattern as the 162 stud pattern for the 136" tracks, which is what im using in my attak.

Always had good luck and great performance with no rips or anything from studding just the center belt.

FOR THIS YOU ONLY NEED 96 DOWN THE CENTRE. YOU WILL LOOSE SOME TOP END WITH 144.

I think we will get many opinions here as to whats best, I went with 144 1.4 inch studs in and outside of the rails, hugging the rail (more down pressure on stud) and avoiding the center (avoid shock rub and again closer to rail = > pressure).

I have heard many critiques of nearly all techniques. Heck I don't race competitively so this should do fine.

I rode with out last year and did fine, but the saftey factor is real to me.

144 down the center all double backers.
had to make my own pattern couldn't find one anywere. worked great last season!!

I'm starting out this year with 144 1.375's down the center of my 136 track. If need be, I'll pick the outter belts. I use a "V" pattern with 4 studs in the same belt at the last part of the "V". I'll post a pic this weekend.
