If I was ever going to put studs at all I would put the very minimum down the center since I like to cross country ride mostly anyways and hardly ever ride that much ice..and when I'm in icey area I just ride accordingly and do just fine. So far I have NO use for studs and dont find them benificial on my longer 136" track, I stop very well and takes off great except on pure ice.....But I'm very seldomly on that.sledheadgeorge said:LT1MCSS said:How many of you Apex guys run only 96 studs up the center. I'm really undecided on picking my sled. I just want enough to get decent traction out of the hole, a little extra grip and a little better braking. I don't want to have a ton to deal with. I was thinking of running just 96 woody's megabites up the center. From the guys i ride with im getting mixed emotions, some say don't pick it, some say pick it with just 96. The my hard core race buddies say 96 will not be enough but they are race bias. They want the hole shot.
What do you guys think?
FOR THIS YOU ONLY NEED 96 DOWN THE CENTRE. YOU WILL LOOSE SOME TOP END WITH 144.

I put 96 Stud Boys in a double pattern down the middle. Just for safety on those icy corners and a little help out of the hole.
