How My RX-1 Embarrassed Me

I rode with a 600 SDI last febuary for a week trip 1100 miles.I was surprised how well it ran. From a dead stop I would beat him by quite a bit but from a high speed roll I didnt have nearly as much advantage. Both are 136" in low snow conditions he would get better milage but deeper snow I would get better mileage.

He did say that it had been reprogrammed by the skidoo shop because it was constantly fouling plugs and that before the reprogram it didnt run nearly as well.

No one thought it could climb and that I should buy something else and mod it instead. I put PSI quad pipes, clutched it, put on Holtzman ATACC,159x15 x2 and Skidoo rear suspension it had the Polaris P-85 and PEM secondary ran with or beat everything I ran it against when I got it setup. I loved that sled that motor was not a dog. Wish I still had it.

Nothing that can't be done with a turbo, if you gotta tune it - go big, for dragrace, speedruns or hillclimb you will rock, but you won't win at the pump - LOL

I see that I am getting a lot of attention here. First, I apologize...I feel stupid for typing POO when I should have been typing DOO! That's my fault. Second, again, I promise you this is legit. Some have asked why I waited 14 months to post this. The main reason is that, until two weeks ago, I didn't know TY existed! I found it on a google search and just read the posts for awhile and loved the site, so I became a member. Top end is not an issue in beating the Doo SDI 600...I pull away at about 75. An all-out race and I would kill the thing; but that's beside the point. I am upset that he could hang with me all the way to 75. I can understand not beating him out of the hole, but staying even throughout midrange too? That's why I posted this topic. I may have a slow RX-1 after all. I wouldn't doubt it. However, it's been serviced regularly at a reputable dealer, and that dreaded drive axle bearing has been replaced already. So have some bushings in the skid. Shouldn't be an obvious mechanical problem. I have another post where I write about the inconsistent performance of this sled, so maybe that's an issue that should be brought up in the fall w/ my dealer.

Sorry I didn't respond until now. I was out making $$$ so I can buy an '07 Attak!!

Chris

Try studding your sled!
