Might work aswel or better than prestudded, but won’t touch actual studs. And saw to many prestudded sleds sideways in corners the past cpl weekends to feel confidant in that anymore.

be fun to test that setup beside an pre-studed ice track
there on a 2 ply storm 150, just drill 1/16th hole 3/4' deep and screw in , changed 3 so far all good

Oh, yea never happening lol.
If your following the stud manufactures instructions your probably running 3/16' penetration with conventional studs, if your not running 1/2" to 3/4" penetration its a waste of time been there done it,i was skeptical for many years until i tried the igrips this year and wow thats all i can say

Changed 3 so far as in lost 3 screws or???
Had 2 broken tips and 1 tip fell out unscrewed 3 put 3 new ones in,was driving over boulders to access the trail in december and running a plowed road for 3km every weekend in january, simple to change and the best part is 192 weigh less than 2lbs

I've studded mine and brother's and friends tracks in this fashion for years using double backers and no singles. Some argue that you get vibrations, but we have not experienced this ever. I don't get the double/single combo. The reason for doubles is to get more support and no tear outs, then throw in a single every bar just leaves me scratching my head. I have run this pattern successfully for years and will stick to it. I guess if others are successful with the double/single pattern then who am I to argue.
