Why isn't Yamaha using this chassis for snowcross?
Is this sled really as tough as a Polaris IQ Racer or the REV 440 Racer?
They show Jimmy Blaze doing flips and flying through the moguls, can his machine hold up to that kind of punishment for 3,000 miles without braking apart?

There is NOTHING that can hold up to that for 3000 miles without breaking parts. And that is assuming that you can actually go 3000 miles with that kind of use without prematurely ending its life in a cartwheel.
Did I say that NOTHING can stand that kind of punishment? I really meant it. SnowX sleds don't get high miles and do get lots of replacement parts.

What if we compared it to a Nytro or a Ski-Doo X Package REV? I guess what I'm getting at is this sled as good as the bigger sleds structurally or is the Phazer really targeted towards the beginer sledders?

Well its pretty tough I'd say, I rode a demo at rabbit ears, it had around 5000 miles on it.. the rear of the tunnel had some cracks in the top(flat portion sorta where the storage box is)
And it even held up to being rolled by a demo rider on flats.
Windshield didn't fair so well, but from the images shown so far, it looks like its not getting a windshield, but it had one at least for a little while during our demo rides. The tach display held up just fine, it pivoted down with the roll over, and was easily pulled up.

The DEMO had f.... ff.... 5000 MILES on it!? :ORC
If thats true... thats a crazy amount of riding on a beta sled. Post that under the reliabilty thread. Assuming it didnt have a rebuild lol

Id say its at least as tough as any other Yamaha sled.
The reason they dont use the FX chassis in sno-x is because the Vector motor is too wide to fit and because gear reducers are outlawed by the WPSA they cant run the Genesis 80 FI.
Ive seen a few Phazer in person and the a-arms look pretty beefy.
The hole in the top of the tunnel could be an area of concern, but Im not worried. Im convinced that the sled will live up to Yamaha's legendary reputation of quality and durability. Yamaha has more than proven to me that they know what they are doing when it comes to designing lightweight 4-stroke sleds.
