I just ordered the clutch alignment tool from Hurricane. Can someone tell me what is different about this than the one from Yamanha? I hope I did not waste $110.00.

Look at the video of it

This device clamps in the middle of the secondary so it uses the centerline of the clutches compared to the outside edge that could be inaccurate due to manufacturing processes.
This tool is a clutch "offset" tool, not an alignment tool.
Does it work? We'll find out in about 2 months if the guys who used just this tool, adjusted to it & got better belt life.

So perhaps I missed this but is Hurricane saying if you use his tool that you will NOT blow belts any longer? There is much talk of float/no float etc. If we buy the tool and still blow belts then what? I understand there are many variables but common sleds have been around for so many years and most companies do not have these issues.

This is pretty much the answer if you talk with Dave. If you use this tool, and correct the offset issue, then you're belt issues should be very much improved/gone for the most part. This is what I was told.

The Hurricane clutch tool guarantees proper clutch alignment. We are finding that the sleds are breaking belts largely due to improper alignment so then those sleds are cured of breaking belts after realignment using the Hurricane clutch alignment tool. Other causes that can contribute to premature belt failure are improper clutch calibration, worn rollers, bushings or sheaves, etc. Simply alignment of the clutches will not solves these issues if present
