I'm about to change hifax on a sr viper xtx and noticed the hifax will not fit out the windows of the track. I suppose I will drop the skid to change them how do others change there's? my other sled 03 sx viper the dealer cut one set of windows to let the slides threw and there had been no problem for 7000 miles thoughts on doing the same to a 1.6 track

Wow I just went out and measured again and your right they will be tight. Better get a new can of w-d

I use Teflon spray on the rails as well as the window! Slides right out with vise grips once started!

I ust cut the champfer on the font 3" spray windex in them and drive them on with a rubber mallet through the windows of the track. Trickiest part is getting the window rotated to the right position.

Use a sharp utility knife to open up the window a bit, do each side in different places of the track. Also, you'll be surprised how much crud is on the rail itself, a good wipe down before starting to install new helps a bunch.

Do the old reverse trick to remove them. Get them started off and put it in reverse and run it slowly and they peel right off
That works what they just rip off I don't know if I'm brave enough

Did the vice grip side peel off, gripped the outside edge of the hyfax then rotated the vice grip downward, started at the rear and worked my way forward, it peels off, then sprayed the new hyfax and the track window with lube to work it into the track window and tapped on the end to work it into the slide rails...

How many miles are you getting out of your hyfax. My viper is at 3800 miles on the originals. I am so used to my former Yamahas, (Nytro, etc) having to change them like every 700-1000 miles. After 3800, they still look fine. I know they look different that the traditional Yamaha ones. Am I missing something? How do they last so long?
