Looking to replace sliding runners/hyfax on 2008 Vector. Any recommendations on who and where to buy?

Just go to your Yamaha Dealer and by the BLACK Hyfax in the 121' length. Replace then through the track windows using lithium spray grease or its equivalent.

If all of your windows aren't open, now is the time to cut them open and clip them if you have the $$$.

I'd stay away from the HP graphite slides if you are a groomed trail rider. The stock type lasts well. As Nut said, you can just change them through an open window if you lube it up.

I tried graphites one time on this sled and the track wore into the aluminum rails in 100 miles! I get at least 2k out of the original type.

Do any of the later model RS sleds have all the holes open and the track fully clipped? I think the 2010's do don't they?

One of the first things I did to my 2005 (and before I put the M10 in) was to cut open the closed up holes. I noticed a big improvement in hyfax wear.

I would stay with the stock Yamaha hyfax. I got 2,500 miles on my 07' RS oem slides and probably could get a few more miles. I can deal with this kind of mileage. I will say that I do run my track looser than the spec. I would get them from either your local dealer or one of our sponsor dealers like Port Yamaha. G.B.

Hyfax

I just replaced mine with OEM Yamaha 2,000 miles on the original pair. I could have left them for for a little while longer. The original set wore really fast for the first 500 miles then the wear seemed to stop.

Just don't wait until the middle of winter like I did last year. There was a very thin layer of ice between the rails and the slides that acted like super glue. They absolutely would not move. Ended up pulling the skid and peeling them off sideways with a pipe wrench. It should be a piece of cake when it's above freezing.

My original slides were replaced after 2500 miles and still had life left in them. I never opened up the closed windows in the track, although I'm sure that would help extend the life of the slides
