Hyfax wear / Extroverts ??

You can,t use that bogie system on a nytro. The way the skid compresses it would destroy any extra larger idlers.

Turk, what are you referring too here?

hy fax

I have almost 2000 on my original and not even to the wear line yet, not sure and 75%of that is trail riding , so im not sure wht kind of conditions ya'll are riding in , but i have no problem...

Hyfax wear is not just about snow conditions...

In my case, I have scratchers and snow fins that blow snow on my hyfax in all snow conditions, and I mostly ONLY ride big pow...

I blew through my first set of factory Hyfax in

That was total miles on the sled, set up from the dealer...buddy who bought his sled same day as mine had even less miles on his hyfax, in fact the second set of hyfax lastes less and burned one rail...

I have purchased the Hiper Fax, and have had no issues since...but they are $160...so they better work!!!

Glad to hear about the Hiperfax... I purchased a set of them end of last season. I went through three (3) sets last winter on my XTX (2500mi). I run extros and a fully clipped 1.75" Ripsaw Lite track. All different conditions, but mostly good snow (powder, groomed trails- very little ice). I haven't gotten to ride with the Hiperfax yet, but at $160 a pair, I agree... they had better work. I did notice a big difference right away in the ease with which the sled rolled on the hiperfax when loading it into the trailer though. Lets hope this works!

I am curios as well? I really wanted to get bigger billet wheels from tricked toys. So when I get them I cant go to a bigger size? I am kinda sad now. I was hoping for the 9 inch or bigger. I thought I talked to them and said it was a go, but I guess not. Really would like you words of wisdom on this before I spend all this money on something thats just gonna F my sled

How is the Hyfax wear on the the Nytro? I'm thinking of Buying an XTX and I'm wondering if anyone has gone to Skidoo extroverts to eliminate wear if in fact it's and issue

It is certinally an issue with the XTX. Extrovert drivers will do nothing to eliminate excessive hyfax wear on the XTX nytro. It is partially a problem with the diameter of the boggie wheels and additional wheels needed being added. Extrovert drivers eventually will only melt along with the hyfax. Then the wheels might not be the answer either. If there was an answer you would think Yamaha with all it's backing would have found it by now. With a new hyfax installed my wheels spin freely and won't touch the track until the hyfax is almost worn out. I'd fire half the idiots Yamaha has working for them before everybody jumps ship.

Has anyone tried the marginal snow wheel kit? Wouldn't this kit help with the hyfax wear especally if you place them in the area where the hyfax like to wear out?

I hope it do. I put a set on my MTX on the arch of the rail where the slides wore most. It wore the very first ride and nothing after that. Hope this will fix that but, all in all I didn't have that much trouble with slid wear. Especially for a MTX with a lot of trail riding/

That was helpful info thanks ;)! Any one else? And I have have put the high performance slides on my RX1 and they worked great for me, so this year I bought a pair to try on my XTX hopefully they will work as good. But that why I also asked about the marginal snow wheel kit. I look at it this way every little bit helps!

I didn't find that the High performance sliders worked better than the stockers.

I fixed my problem by getting a better Hyfax. I used to burn thru them to. But I got a hyfax that had a melting point of 750 degrees or something like that. I greatly improved the wear. A little more money of course.

im at 4700 miles on my original hyflex. 09xtx
i did however install larger wheels at 35 miles. X wheels up front and kimpex pros out back.
i also run the powder line any chance i get.
