My hyfax seems to wear badly infront of the front skid wheels. Track seems loose, Seems to wear fast initially then stay thin. I generaly change it when its thin before it goes through. Some body told me they don't wear much after they wear? Anybody try drilling holes in the hyfax to trap snow in them? Extra wheels infront? Graphite slides? What about the lack of track clips? there are only clips on every third window? I know rubber on rubber wears rubber out, how bout rubber on hyfax versus clip on hyfax. Any ideas anyone?

Dont replace them till a 10mm openend wrench will fit over the sides.Lowsnow wheels helps also.Mine will last forever but one good run on really hardpack can do them in quick.

had the same issue with my phazer, pull one hole on the limiter strap and install ''slp'' antiwear pads, they hardly wear now,my first set lasted 1500 miles and now i have 4500 miles on the second set and they are still good for a while

Just wondering what these are - ''slp'' antiwear pads?

And, the limiter strap, did you mean tighten or loosen? (my "08 VL came already tightened to the last hole)

Thanks

Here is a link to SLP's site with an example of the anti-wear pads. The head on the actual "wear pad" is not as rounded as the picture makes it appear. The head is much flatter and will not wear a groove in the center of the hyfax. http://www.slp.cc/catalog.cfm?pageID=de ... ductID=488

I just installed on my Apex and may put them on the whole fleet if they work well...
