I have read the old thread kicking around about these spacers but it seemed to get too off topic so I am hoping some of you guys can help me out!

My 09 XTX seems to have about 6" of sag at the rear. Some may argue this is normal but to me that is far to excessive. I am a 210lb guy with no gear, and am hoping to eliminate most of this sag. 1"-3" is acceptable.

Do these hygear spacers work to elimate this sag? I assume they also increase the stiffness of the rear shock too.

I also think I will get my rear shock re-valved. The sled has 5000km on it. Think its time?

Thanks!

I have the spacers but they didn't do enough for me.
They do help keep the coil springs more stable.
I ended up doing more.
You may also want to try the overdrive 4th click adjusters in conjunction with the Hygear spacers.
Guys... I can't remember where I got them from.
The other thing that helps is the re-location of the wheels up front along with the higher up spring slide block location.
Yamaha did this on the 2011 models. I'm not sure if there is a kit from Yamaha but there aren't too many parts needed to do the 2011 mod.

They're X Click suspension blocks by Driven Products. Sled Werx carries them in Canada. I'm ordering due to fact I'm 270 lbs bone dry dressed like jay bird! Also did Yam just come out with a higher slide block for the torsion spring?

I have used both and they both really did not solve the problem. I ended up putting on a set of heavy duty Apex MTX torsion springs, they needed to be cut shorter by about 3 inches. But they work great. The stock XTX spring is soft. Or you can contact Ulmer I read somewhere he sells a heavy duty XTX torsion spring.

I'm 250lbs., aggressive rider and the Hygear spacers did the trick for correcting the sag. Can't see why you would upgrade the springs. I run mine on medium now with Hygear shocks.

I missed this part.
I usually have my rear shocks serviced every season.
You don't want any water inside.
Cheers

Thanks for the responses everyone. Ah what the heck, I think I am going to try them.

Hmmm, I guess they are worth a try. Do you think the shock is helping eliminate the sag too? You also have PM from me badsled, I had a few questions!

P.S Does anyone have a 12v accessory plug lying around? My nytro didn't come with one #$%&*

Here is the post from last year.
XTX 2011 update, not everyone knows about.

Focus and tune the springs to allow for correct set in for your weight. The main function of shocks is to provide dampening (compression & rebound).

I ended up using 07 Apex RTX springs cut down, they were 1900nm springs and worked great, had the Hygear spacers, x-clicks, and the trail pro set-up, and still had sag and bottoming issues till I installed the springs, granted I do carry gass and a large tunnel bag.

So I went ahead and decided to machine my own spacers to save some money. It was a simple engineering calc to figure out how much the torsion springs compress, and the clearance between the spring and spacer required...

Material cost me 25 bucks from McMaster, and took a hour or so to machine up. If anyone is interested in doing this, PM me and I can give you the CAD ;)!

Here was my design (not sure if its the same as hygears) but should work well. I don't have my skid back in, so im not sure if it fixed my sag yet...hope so!

Is that teflon?
What's the inner and outer diameter?

It's all fine if you have your own lathe, but the cost of the material and the price of a machine shop lobour hourly, would cost more than the price of the Hygears.

Oh for sure, in the long run I likely only saved 20 bucks, but it kept me busy for a few hours on a rainy night!

Has this helped with your sag at all?
