I was looking on ebay for the Hygear spring spacers...The spacers are 29.00 I asked Hygear how much to ship to my home in Newfoundland Canada....They come back with a totally out to lunch shipping quote of....... $33.47.....for two pieces of plastic...I have had big items shipped from Muffinworks for cheaper...Any other company sell an item that does the same as this stuff from Hygear.

Don't be mad at Hygear, they are probably using UPS..You can ship a feather in a box UPS to Canada and it's going to cost $30.. The post office is the way to go when shipping to Canada as I have found out through my line of work.. But for them to pay a guy, plus gas, to drive to the post office to save you $20 on a part they are probably only making $10 on is kinda out of the question for them on a business standpoint.. As I said I run into this all the time in my line of work.. Sorry, it sucks, But it isn't Hygear's fault..

UPS charges an extra $3.50 just to deliver to a house rather than a business..

Right on grizz, pay the guy, plus gas to go to the post office add $15, and your at $35..or eat the pay and gas and you broke even or lost money on the sale..
Hygear is a good company to deal with, they aren't trying to screw you, just trying to run a business bro..

Nothing against Hygear, I deal with the all the time. Just stating what it cost to ship using USPS. They also pick up my package when they deliver the mail. No trip to the post office.

I have a set on their way right now. The shipping charge was $19.54 with USPS. That's not the part that pains me, it's when I get nailed with Canadian Customs charges when it comes in. Man they drive me nuts! You end up paying about 20 bucks on every hundred spent. This combined with the exchange rate has caused me to cancel some of this years planned mods! Soon we will need to set up a smuggler to get the parts across the border, lol.

The customs charges are not Hygear's fault. I like the smuggling idea!

You are usually paying only canadian taxes and sometimes a brokerage fee (which can be expensive).
NAFTA generally means you are not paying duty on stuff you bring into Canada from the US. You will pay duty if it was not made in canada or the US.
The other negative thing about shipments coming into canada is border delaya (usually in the neighborhood of 6 days).
You can avoid brokerage fees and border delays by shipping to a border service and bringing it in yourself.
I bring stuff in legally all the time usually with a significant savings. Just declare your items at the border and pay taxes on the item cost minus shipping charges.
Btw, I'm all about supporting locally and paying a fair price for a aervice but when the price difference is in the neighborhood of 50% or more.....

no kidding the brokerage fees are expensive. I never kept any receipts but I know some times I have paid almost double of what the sales tax would beYou are usually paying only canadian taxes and sometimes a brokerage fee (which can be expensive).

I used to never get nailed with duty but after I got checked once I must have been red flagged or something. Every time now I get nailed for it.
