This weekend rding Tug Hill, NY, I broke my limiter straps! I got about 1,800 miles on the machine, most of which were easy Canada miles vs. the ditchbanging Central NY type of miles. It was quite bumpy and we were airing the sleds out pretty good, but nothing abnormal like I typically put my old 600sx or my buddy's Viper through.

I had the straps pulled up two holes to control ski lift. I ran this setup for about 1,500 miles with no problems.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'll tell you this much... if this is a problem on a Vector, what the hell is going to happen on the Nytro? Yamaha better beef-up these straps!

I have my straps in the stock (loosest) position. With 1,340 miles....no problems with them yet.

Well, my dealer warranteed my limiter straps. They are the same design, so I guess the problem isn't too widespread for a design change. I'll try again. If it reoccurs, maybe I'll double them up or add a 3rd.

In any case, my dealer got me replacment parts in less than a week! No complaints, here!

Did they snap off clean or did it look like they were chewed up? On my Venture the straps are getting all chewed up just below the length adjustment bolt. It almost looks like they are getting up into the track drive cogs. I put a 4x4 peice of wood just under the front spring and let the weight of the sled on it to see how close they got. It would need to go alot further yet though so I'm not sure, but there is nothing else that I could see that could be doing it though. I'm going to need to replace them soon as they are just about worn through. The dealer said he would replace them but they will likely do they same thing again. Not sure what to do to prevent this.

My straps broke clean right across the 4th hole. Your problem sounds different than the one I had. My strap edges were a bit frayed befoet hey snapped, but nothing abnormal compared to my other sleds.

I have a RS Venture with 4000 Km and the left strap broke on me last week. This was an almost clean cut near the hole. The other strap looked just new.

There was an icy peak in the backyard i had to go over each time i was going riding where the front part of the suspension goes fully in. I wonder if this can be the cause. I noticed that one washer might have initiated the cut, pushed by ???

The straps were BO so the dealer took one from a new sled in the crate.
