i have this years model apex mtx ne one do anything to their 08 models i was thinkin of getting a turbo charger but i live in a small town and for the turbos u have to have special mixtures or race gas so i am just going to look for other stuff such as weight sets of mufflers (silencers) sparl plugs and other stuff to add horse power weight reduction maybe if anyone has any infp please do tell.

You could probably just ride it stock and have a blast. On the RX1 mtn I put on the MBRP pipe, set the clutching for it to run right up to 11,200 rpm on hardpack so it would be as crisp as possible in powder. But the APEX is fuel injected and already is set up crisp. I'm not sure the after market pipe would be worth the investment. Make sure that you've got the right clutch rivets for your elevation so that you're not always into the rev limiter.
I like my sled best when I'm standing. Make sure your riser is the correct height for you, riding hunched over while standing decreases your mobility.
Set up your suspension to increase weight transfer and put on wide skis (i'm stock) if you're plowing through the powder. Left hand throttle can help when boondocking and sidehilling, but I use it far less on the Apex then I did on the RX1.
I rode both sleds bone stock for awhile and slowly changed things as I learned the sled's characteristics. The Apex stock is an awesome sled.
Now for the reality check....if you're a sledhead; turbos make these sleds easier to ride and way more fun. If you get an expert to do the install you should have a reliable setup and should not have to fiddle with it at all.

i was looking at the mcxprees on youtube on the apex man is he ever flyin up that hill i want power like that looks fun but i live in a small town where in the winter snowmobile is all there is so i dont want to go all out with the turbos but u guys said u can run it off pump gas well the smaller one i guess, the apex all stock is awesome standin up the risers are perfect lots of power i dont know how you would set up the mcx well i guess theres nothing to installing it but setting up the psi and everything is what im not sure about im going to go to school for small engine repair or mechanis in september so i gues shes stock until then, lol i was looking at those spark plugs man they add 2 to 3 hp on the apex thinkin about getting then rele expensive though 32 bux a peice i think it is put some weights in the clutch and if i ever won the jackpot on 649 or something man i would put a boondocker tunnel on it boss seat led tail lights. check this site out www.customsleds.ca its a place in ontario for u guys that live in nl or watever its an awesome place. has any one tried weight reduction? on the o8s?
