You can weld stainless to black iron, it will just rust where the weld is. And yes some stainless is magnetic and some is not, based on the alloys that are used to make it. We have a chemical solution in the shop that you drip on the end, to determine if the material is stainless or not. Can't trust a magnet anymore.

hey, im buying a dvx 400 with a factory ss pipe, the guy has the stock one, you think if i take the baffles out of the stock pipe and weld it on it would do anything? someone pm me or somethin

Dude ANY PIPE that you use will probably flow better than your stock pipe, so pull the trigger already...

the way i looked at it was even if the r1 pipe doesnt add power its worth it for the 20 pounds in weight loss.

Tis true. When I reinstalled my stocker it felt like I had a full can of gas strapped on to the back of the seat.

I agree.I put stock one back on and immediately noticed the wieght.
