Hey I'm new here. I'm not new to forums though, Im part of a few dirtbikin forums, and Ford truck forums. Anyway abit about myself..

I'm 16 going into grade 12, 140-150lbs standing at 5'6", Im an aggresive rider (compared to the old farts I ride with), I ride an 07 Phazer GT, I ride atleast 3000km(1900mi) a season which is mid Dec to the very end of March and I hate 4 stroke haters.

I've had the mod bug bit me before, with my truck and my dirtbike and spending all last night reading thread after thread while I was waiting to get my account activated the mod bug bit me again. I'm not thinking about anything crazy, not even a pipe(actually I have my stock pipe from my dirtbike that just might work?) or clutch kit. I was thinking something like the airbox mod with the pod things and some fat bars that will allow me to get abit more leverage.

The airbox mod: Even if it doesnt do anything HP wise it's still worth it to be to make it sounds a little more throaty and at $10, you cant go wrong.

Fat bars: I ride in some pretty cold conditions and I'd like to be able to keep the hand warmers. Could I just drill new holes in the bars so I could secure the grips with rivets? and does anyone know the width of the stock bars at the clamp? I'm assuming its 1 1/8"

Catwalks: I got a pretty good technique down for get the skis of the ground but only for 20-30ft and probably only about 2ft up. I read that I could adjust the rear limiter strap and that would help. Would I loosen or tighten it? What do you guys think of doing that?

I have a welder and drill press and everything I will need to git er dun and I'm very familiar with everything..

Close both holes in the tunnel... I wraped my header pipe with 2 inch header heat wrap just to be on the safe side. this is a cheap mod that will save you from a lot of ice and water problems.
 
I have part of the tunnel closed off. but if I completely close it off I should wrap the header with heat wrap?

thanks. what do you know about adjusting the rear limiter strap to make better catwalks? if anything..
 
oh I can just hit the gas on mine.
 
I can too but I want the skis to hang a little higher. I dont plan on doing any engine mods, or any clutch mods. Im probably going to weld in my stock dirtbike exhaust and the airbox mod in the fall when I'm getting her ready for the season.
 
cool, i know there was a thread about the limiter strap a few months back, try doing a search. other than that add more power!!!!!!!!!
 
I would say pretty much any exhaust would increase hp a little.. all you would do is probably move the torque curve a little from one kind of pipe to the next

Yes I would recommend wrapping the header for two reasons... First the gas tank sit directly above the header pipe. The front hole that you will close is there for overprotection against boiling the fuel and causing a fire. By wraping the header with header heat wrap you will have plenty of protection because the header wrap will keep a huge portion of the heat in the pipe.... Which brings us to reason two..keeping the heat in the pipe ADDS HORSE POWER!!!!

I don't know all the ins and outs but the jest of it is that the exhaust will flow better
 
so i just wrap it around the header in the engine?


I found a thing sayin if I were to remove the limiter strap it would pull wheelies like nothin. I just wanna loosen it abit and be able to keep the skis on the ground when i need to. Do you know what I have to do to get at the limiter strap and loosen it up?
