I just put in new HID lights on my apex

I just put it new HID light kit for my Apex. I did not see much of a differance so far. I have only tried it in my garage. I bought 4300k H4 35W bi-exon lights. I thought the lights that were in it were stock. They say GE 60/55w and then a part number. I don't feel happy with the lights so far.

The lights you had in there weren't stock if they were 55w. The stock ones are 35w. And on my experience HID's are quite abit brighter than stock, so I'm suprised you don't like them.

hid do require a couple minutes to warm up if your using an analog ballast, i put 8000k hid in mine and it'll light up everything i imangine i'll be casting shadows everywhere this year

I have had a set in for a few years and have a set for the viper this year. the ones I used on my sled and cars are slims but I don't like the ignitor in the wire with slims so this time I have regular ballasts with ignitor inslide. They are only about another 1/4in thicker. My supplier tells me this style will last longer though I have no issues with the slims I have.

Which kit did you inslall? Where did you get it?
The difference should be real obvious from stock bulbs in lights.

Which kit did you inslall? Where did you get it?

I bought it from Ebay. The kit was $59.99. It was easy to put on.

Connect one of the stock bulbs back in there.
You should notice a huge difference.

I can't speak for whatever brand you purchased on e-bay but I can say that the Sled Start HID kit literally made a "night & day" difference on my sled.

Does your kit have a solenoid that moves the bulb in and out of the reflector for high and low beam operation like the Sled Start HID's do?

I was running Silverstar Ultra's which were noticeably better than the stock bulbs but the Sled Start HID's took it to a whole new level.

They do take a few minutes to get to full brightness and steadyness but once they warm up they are incredible. If I am following someone at night they tell me that they ride my headlight instead of their own!

And you can not beat Kurt's customer service! I had one ballast fail and he sent me out a new one right away. Kurt is the best in the business IMO.

Yes it dose have a solenoid that moves the bulb in and out for high and low. I ran the sled for 3 or 4 min. I will have to see how I like them after we get some snow.

Some guys remove the bulb shield for a wider beam but I left mine in and I have perfect coverage on low & high.

Wait until you get on the trail with the white snow and you will never go back to non HID lighting on your sled.

I have to agree with the comments regarding the sledstart brand, I have them in my apex and they are amazingly bright. My friends that I ride with are not sure if the want me following them anymore let alone have me coming at them. They are awesome.

IMHO HID's are the same from brand to brand, just the color differences.

Just wait till you get on the trail at night and stop next to someone w/o HID's, then you'll see the difference and it is stark to say the least. You'll have no regrets.
