Guys I am having trouble logging into the 2 stroke forum si I cant put this question in the right place.

I am trying to help a young local kid with his 1996 OVATION.
Got it running for him but THE STEERING IS TIGHT. On these old strut suspensions is there some lube spot?

Sled sat in a barn for a long time, I am not familiar with the front suspension set up. Is this a common issue on these and how do I free it up? Young local boy and I'm trying to get him out on it

HELP!

There is hope! I have a 1989 Ovation that sat for years and the front end was tight. My experience was, I can't remember if it was grease or oil that I applied to any obvious moving parts without taking anything apart, and just worked them back and forth. It wasn't instant back to normal but once it was being driven again, it gradually loosened up to where it is back to normal now. The excessive no use is the culprit.

I have same issue.

there is no zerk there. i drilled an tapped my et410 as it filled with snow and froze on me. now that i grease it it has not had any issues.

Best guess is the scissor arms are rusted on the pogo shafts. Is there a grease zerk? I had to install grease fittings on my 1981 SRX back in the day!
That is it. Scissor arm bushings are going to be siezed like a rock.

I replaced the whole set on both my ovations. Mine was so bad had some damaged bolts from removal. Torches, PB Blaster and a press was what I had to use.

Not sure if you can get everything from Yammi. Kimpex makes a complete kit (minus bolts) that is still available

got all the bushings and bolts 2 years ago from yamaha as there was no aftermarket kit availible.
