Ok I have a MCX240 Nytro that runs very well with the exception that when I turn it off after running for more then 10 plus minutes it will not start up until I let it cool down? I do know that it can be a relay issue but It always started back up one I let it sit for 5-10 minutes so I never bothered changing it since I rarely stop?

So, last weekend I ran her pretty hard for 40 miles(one way) with many WOT throttle pulls but never more then 10 seconds across a a long lake and again it runs very well with no hiccups. When I GOT TO THE END OF THE LAKE IT SMELLED LIKE ANTIFREEZE and noticed my rez tank was very full and it was pissing out the hose and the light also had just came on right before I shut it off.

So let her cool down for half hour and it would not start(relay?) and then another five minutes and she fired right up. Drove her back and again it ran perfect with no light on during the entire 40 mile run until I let it idle for 2 minutes while loading back up and it smelled antifreeze.

So, Is it the relay or is it Leaking anifreeze in 1 or more cylinders while sitting DUE TO HIGH PRESSURE but when I star it cold it fires right up ? When I got home I added antifreeze while running the sled and it rises really fast and pours out the rad but no bubbles? Is this normal? What other signs or home tests would tell me if my head gasket has failed?

It sounds like it is getting hot. Check in the res tank to see if there are any small black flecks from the head gasket.

Head gasket blown into cylinder; smoke out tailpipe while running

Blown leaking into oil ; milky oil on dipstick ,rise in volume (will look like too much oil)

Blown into cooling system (bubbles into coolant resevoir)

A rise in resevoir will occur if you run engine too hot (designed to catch overflow of antifreeze) expansion

Do you have the Nytro mountain tunnel heat exchanger installed? If not you need to install it. Yamaha sells it as a complete kit for the Nytro flatlander. Your coolant is close to boiling and is pressure exceeds 1.1 BAR or 16 lbs inside the cooling system. Coolant is pressed out and into the overflow cup. The mountain heat exchanger will add 1.4 quarts of coolant to the system in addition to the added surface. Go get it.
