Put a new Ice Ripper track on my RX-1 this year. Ended up with 3850 miles on the new track. Here are my impressions after this season. I lost NO studs. All rubber lugs are still there. It is no good for drag racing, if you are on glare ice. I never had any problem with it stopping on icy trails. Once in a while on a very icy corner you could feel it slip a little bit, but not near as much as you would slip if you had no studs. All in all, I was very happy with the track, and its durability. I will probably never stud again, and will probably stick with the Ice Ripper tracks to something better in my opinion comes along. Best part was, piece of mind. I didn't have to worry about putting a stud through the heat exchanger. I riding style is pretty aggressive, especially for someone over the age of 50. Hope this overview helps.

i second the opinion above....
the ice ripper on the vector seemed to be the perfect balance, you could still slide the corner a little if you wanted, and the braking was spot on... even on the glare ice with the 120 it hooked up pretty well....
great track camo.....

Nice report guys. I'm looking to upgrade the predator this summer. What's the best price going on the Ice Ripper 121?

1.25 or 1 inch? closed window or open window? if open how was track life? I ran a cat quiet ripsaw this season and hyfax life was terrible unless snow was perfect.I'm thinking about putting my stock track back on but an ice gripper would be nice,I always liked the tracion and safety of studs.

Did u fully clip the track? Ice ripper comes open window but not fully clipped. I run the fully clipped track but its not studded like ice ripper. Put own studs in.. Might change in 07.

I have about 3K miles on my ice ripper (04 RX-1). Not missing any studs and all lugs are in place. Looks like a new track! I love it. All windows are open. Every third is clipped. No problem with hyfax wear. (You do have to ride these things on snow, ya know.)

Good reviews glad to hear they are holding up gonna need a new one for my 03, 8000 miles on original sounds like a real good option. How is it on the concrete does it rip it up like normal studs?

I did not notice any additional noise with the Ice Ripper over the regular Ripsaw I had last year. It will still dig up your concrete floors and driveways, but not as much as regular studs. As mentioned in another post, the 121" track has every window open, clipped every third window. I am not sure about the 136" track. The 121" track cost $440 through Tracks USA. Not sure about the cost of the 136" track. Did not notice much difference in Hyfax ware, I am on my second set for the year. Got about 2200 miles out of my first set, and as everyone knows, conditions were not the best this year.
