KnappAttack said:I put 900 miles on my Iceripper XT last year and it still looks like brand new. Keep in mind they are only made so far in the 2.86 pitch for the Ski-Doo. You'll need the ski-doo 2.86 pitch drivers. It is a great track for trail riding. Perfect for the icy trails. It is not a drag track for the ice by any means. I'll never run studs again for the trail after using this track. Its 5 MPH faster than a track studded with 144 studs, and has no vibration to it, unlike the studded track. Also no chance of ruining the heat exchangers from a thrown stud. Another benefit is the reduced hyfax sticking problems due to a fully clipped design that really holds snow. I have found way less drag with these clips vs all solid clips of the previous year on a fully clipped track. Here's a link with pictures from last year.

Mike,i just check on camoplast site and they got this year 2.52 pitch iceripper XT 1.25" an iceattak 1" and 3 length 121" 128" 136".
Want to see more result on this track,so keep posting result.

Received my Ice Ripper XT yesterday...pretty cool track. It's fully clipped with mostly the lighter "holey" clips, and the remaining solid clips are the ones with "L" shape to them that run along the sides of the slides.

wonder why they didnt use the ported clips in my 144? maybe they figure if your running that long a track you dont care about spinning weight?

My XT is a single ply track. Holed clips would not save much weight, but they do hold the snow nice. This is the best low friction setup I have tried. I have run third window closed setup, fully clipped and now the XT full clipped with the holes, only guide clips solid, and no doubt about it is easiest on the hyfax.

Interested in this track after the issues I had last year with studs hitting my rear heat exchanger. I rde trails that can get icy. How is it in these coditions? I don't want to be flipping or spinning the rear end when I hit ice. Sudded for safety not racing!!! In General Apex Talk section I have copied an article from CB Performance. I thing there is now a 136" that fits the attak without adding ski-doo parts!??

I had Ice Ripper for last two years. Just put on the Ice Teck. It has all holes punched and is filly clipped. Every third clip is a Non-Ported clip.
The old Ice Ripper was 1/3 (maybe 2/3s, I forget) clipped with ported clips. Those clips failed. After 6K miles, several (like 20) were missing. All on an 100 Mile trip.
My personal belief is the ported (which are thinner) clips heated up too quick. I always had hyfax melted to the leading edges. I never had that with the OEM track's clips.
Also, with the Ice Ripper the hyfax wear was increased at least two fold with these clips. On the OEM track, they had the non-ported and heavier clips. The hyfax would go a good 3K miles.
It will be interesting to see how it goes with the mix of clips they are using on the Ice Tech.

Ice Tech isn't a particular track, but a series of Camoplast's pre-studded tracks. Which version did you end up getting Len?

Just got back from riding on the ice at Turkey Pond in Concord, NH with my 07 Apex RTX. Installed the Ice Attack track this fall and have been waiting for a chance to try it. It's based on the 1" Hacksaw. My brother Pete has the same sled but installed the Hacksaw with 144 Woody's instead. The ice was very smooth with about 1 inch of fresh fluff. Great conditions for testing studs. His sled had awesome traction. The Ice Attack on my sled was OK. Just doesn't penetrate the ice like his studs do. I had a lot of track spin out of the hole. His would just hook and go. Once moving, the track seemed to perform good. Still had good traction and had no issues with control. I could get the sled to slide sideways under power but was able to control it with the throttle. Pete was unable to slide at all. But he couldn't steer either. I had good balance between traction and steering. We both have Bergstroms but his need replacing. I think this will be a great trail track but won't hold a candle to a properly studded track on glare ice. We also noticed my sliders were not getting enough lube where his were fine after a few runs breaking them in. I couldn't get past 110 MPH where he was hitting 113 MPH after a few break in runs. He installed Heel Clickers on his primary and after some fine tuning was able to hit 116 MPH with a best of 118. I think because his studs penetrated better, they helped kick up more ice chips to help lube the sliders better. With more snow I think Pete would have had less of an advantage. I'm anxious to do some trail testing to see how this track will be overall. So if you're looking for great traction on ice, this is not the track for you.

Yeah, if you looking to ice race this isn't the track to get--BUT if you are looking for a trail track with enough grip to get up icey hills and icey stops with out the worry of throwing a stud through an exchanger I think you will be happy
