Ok, BlgsRX-1mtn I edited my post.
Glad to hear your kit works.
I'm not trying to start a pissing match.
I'm just stating the pros and cons as I see some of them.
It's it great this site gives us the chance to be aware of every angle, opinion, pros and cons.
I think the SC is probably the best applcation for the RX1 because of the carbed engine throttle response. ( EFI Apex maybe not)
I'm 44, I not here to get in a bickering over which is best.
Let's all have a BOOST IT BLAST!!!!!

On the brighter side of things,
Hammer is to have his fuel controller last night or today from MPI for his SC stage 1 Apex. Looking forward to hearing how it works for him.
Alpine is shipping there kits no to the local dudes that prepaid and theyve been running there kit @ 16 lbs no major issues.
And Boondocker is shipping as well.
Looks like it could be a good Xmas for lots of riders. Cant wait to hear everyones reports on those 3 kits !!!

RX-BOY are the control boxes adjustable or are they set to were you cannot tweak the fuel curve.

60+mph...oh ya...Apex...boost is better and it lasts ALL DAY !!!

Thanks Hammer that is good news. I assume you were talking about the Apex that you blew the throttle bodies off. Are you sure why it happened? Are the 0-60 and 60+mph report due to the fact that you need more time on the Apex to get the clutching dialed in.

Dark one, I haven't ridden with a turbo'd RX since the SC install but, I will be (benders and a MCX rear mount) in Feb in McCall, ID. I haven't even compared my mileage with the SC against my NA mileage but I'll keep tabs on it over New Years in Cooke City. For what it's worth though my RX-1 with a NA engine never got better than 8 MPG in the deep.
Wife's RMK 900 beat me at the pump (last year) not only in MPG but cost/fillup (me using 87 and her 91 octane). That could be because she likes to poach my tracks though.

First Ride Report: December 17, 2005
22-25*F, 5500-6500ft, parking lot empty, first tracks on freshly groomed (Frozen/Slick) trails… I get it out on the trail and begin working it from 4000rpm to 6000rpm for 15-min, stop, peal of all the plastic and inspect for leaks, loose clamps, parts rubbing, parts falling off etc… It all looks good… I ride another 30-min and do the same thing… It all looks good… I start to work it between 4000-7000rpm for another 30-min, same thing all good… Then 4000-8000rpm a little more aggressively, 30-min, everything good… We do some more trail cruising and running along about 40mph its spinning 6500rpm, stab it, and it goes to 9400rpm… I did this numerous times for 2-3 seconds at a time… Now we are 12-miles from the parking lot headed back and I start to get brave… I start running it from 6500rpm to 9400rpm but this time holding it for 5 seconds… I try another 5 seconds and the rpm starts climbing above 9400rpm the longer I hold it… Now we are 2-miles from the trailer and have put a 48-miles on and I’m feeling really brave… I hold it wide-open for 8-seconds and hit 10,500rpm, so I let off, because MPI say’s 9800-10,000 is max… I now have the trailer in site so I figure WTF and let it eat… 85+mph/10,900rpm and it’s still pulling hard… Then BOOM !!!… I blow the throttle bodies off the side of the engine… Coasted a ways and idled her into the parking lot… Intercooler, fuel, vacuum lines, and miscellaneous parts are all still intact… Climactic end to an otherwise boring break-in ride…
Average temperature readings taken during the day:
Grips 72*-110* (my hands were fugging COLD)
Belt & Clutches 95-100*F (no belt slip marks and full shift out attained)
Engine/Oil/Coolant 160-170
Coolant hoses at rear crossover tube 110-120*F
Intercooler core 101-104*F
NOTE: Check your hyfax… Even with ice-scratchers down all day and perfect trails the skid ate 50% of the hyfax in a 3-inch section directly in front of the most forward set of idler wheels… This is with my straps pulled up 2-holes from the factory setting… They may or may not last one more ride in the same conditions…
