In way over my head?...

^^^-Baw ha ha ha ha! I know they aren't 'fast', but i never did have big cc sleds, almost all 440s, and this Phazer, although i think it's amazing for a 500cc four stroke, isn't exactly a rocket ship. But, like i'm sure all of us new, that isn't what we bought it for, and not what i'm looking for. I could give up some speed now, but i don't know if i could give up enough to be in "turd" status?

550 fan a turd? I dunno about that, my friend has an 08 550f and we have raced many many times (flat, hills, powder, you name it) We always come out dead nuts equal. I would say his 550f and my phazer are equal in most aspects, weight, handling, speed, reliability ect.

You just think you can give up some speed.Once you get suspension right and a little better handling you will definitely want more speed out of your Phazer. It will seem to be crawling on rivers and really any highspeed trail. There is no way I would ever buy anything slower like that fan TNT.If that fan TNT seems fast then they must have messed up on suspension and its beating rider up so bad that the speed is a illusion.

So in the last few nights, I have fooled around with the wiring. As I stated above for any new comers, my Gauge pod is flashing Error codes 1 & 2. I checked as many connections as I could and looked all over for any broken or cracked wires and couldn't come up with anything. I think I am going to bite the bullet and purchase a new gauge pod to see if that is finally the solution, because I can't find anything else for the life of me.

As for the rest of the problems ie: (I pulled the throttle body from its boots by accident) I am going to throw in the towel after I replace my A-arm and spindle myself and let a professional do it the right way. My upper right A-arm replacement came in yamaha blue, but my sled has black arms and I cannot send it back. Does anyone have a black upper right A-arm, even if its used to trade for my brand new blue one? I don't want to bother with having to try to match the paint. If not, does anyone know of a solution to that problem besides powdercoating because I can't find an affordable price on getting it done.
Thanks guys, without this forum, i'd be lost haha :rocks:

I would try to find a phazer near you and try to swap the gauge to see if it fixes it. I am not sure how much they cost but they mush not be cheep!

Actually, I have an 08 phazer mtx, in my shed, that my friend is storing there. Would I screw his head unit up if theres something wrong with my sled? Also, are the engine/error codes stored in the gauge pod or the ecu? Basically, can I plug his in to see, without fooling his up with engine codes from my sled?

I think you can but I see why your worried.Call Ulmer he seems to really know the electronics end of these.I also am not sure whether info including fuel settings is in ECU or Guage.Just know you can change all of it from the guage.

Yes, I am mainly worried of the fact that my sled could throw a code for anything now, since its been disassembled for a few months now. His sled is a brand new left over he got last season, and the last thing he needs is for it to get all fooled up with mixed codes.

Just thought id let you guys know that I am back on the snow! Just finished everything up this morning!. I fully disassembled the sled with the help of a friend, replaced my bent up front end parts, changed the oil, coolant and put it all back together! It took a few weeks with work and school commitments, but i finally got everything fixed. My pod seems to have magically fixed itself, but there is a slight amount of condensation in the pod's lens any ideas how to fix that?

It sucked that I had to do all this work, but a great experience all the same. I will no longer be taking my sled to the dealer for oil changes, and basic maintenance any more. Not bad for a 17 year-old ;).

Also a big thanks to cannondale27 for giving me a hint on how to fix my bent A-arm.

Bring on the snow!

Awesome! My gauge gets a little condensation once in awhile also.It goes away.Otherwise maybe a light bulb near enough to it not to melt it but enough to warm it up?
