My 03 1 ton has been giving me starting issues for months it somtimes does not even click just acts dead then later it might fire up like it never had a problem
latly however it does not start more than it starts And even with a GIANT Cat battery it was reluctant to know it was meant to be turning over
I Check all connections re boost and vroom
then parked a few days dead to start voltage meter says i got power but nothing happinging I throw a Charger on it and later Vroom again
battery may be due to replace but I think the Problem is DEEPER. any sugestions? I thought the switch might be toast or the starter it self
also any not totally expensive funtional replacment battery options
You have to check for a couple of things. Starter draw in amps will tell you if the starter is taking too much power to start. The other thing would be battery condition. This would be battery state of charge and alt output. Now saying that, if your battery goes dead overnight, you might have a parasitic draw. ie: cell phone plugged in, sat radio left on? The max parasitic load for most batteries is around 25milliamps.
