Running 9 lbs of boost and twice this weekend the intake rubber boots that connect to the engine intake popped off. Pain in the #*$&@ to fix while riding. The clamps that hold it on have a spacer that prevent further tightening. After the second time, I removed the spacer in the clamp so I could tighten much tighter. Ran awesome all day, then this morning was running so wide open runs and it popped again! How can I prevent this from happening? How to secure the boots tighter? :o|

Do you have a Blow Off Valve?
Typically lack of a BOV causes things to blow apart when the throttle is chopped closed and the boost spikes with no-where to go.
I know FPP uses turnbuckles on all their airboxes and intercoolers to keep the carb or throttle bodies from popping out of the boots under boost... I've never blown anything apart on mine.

Yes, I have the Push Turbo with a BOV on the intake pipe Do I need to turn the adjustment knob to increase, or decrease? How do you know if it is working properly?
:rocks:

Not sure, both my Bosch BOV's aren't adjustable, just a diaphram and a port for the vac hose to the throttle bodies.

You can try pulling the intake boots off then spraying them with hairspray before sticking them back on.

Most kit builders\custom builders make brackets to either bolt to the frame or engine. You can tighten your clamps all day but they will still come off!

A good way to see of your blow off valve is working is to put a piece of 2" masking tape over the blow off port that is open to ambient air pressure.
If it pops like it should, it will blow the tape off. That is how I tested mine as with a helmet on and louder exhaust I can't always here the BOV pop.

those little spacers you removed need to go back you can grind them down close to halfway but without them you wont keep it together. also use hairspray when you put the boots back together. I couldnt keep my sc apex together until i done this. I also have a turbo nytro but never got to test it yet and was hoping i wouldnt have to do this seeing it has a bov but by the sounds of it i will.

Now I can't get the sled to run normal. Hard to start (requires giving it gas) and it runs like crap and will not idle. Verified any leaks from the turbo all the way back to the intake, throttle bodies, and boots. All seems good. I did notice the boots that mount the throttle assembly against the motor is not completely flush all the way around, especially the two outside ones. Any ideas? Thanks....
