Which Phazer model is the best bang for the buck. The 07's are starting to get cheap. How well do these compare to the 08's and 09's? What would the advantages be of spending the extra cash to get the 09? The Phazer issue that bothers me the most is the link failures on the rear and front suspension. Please give feedback on what Phazer model to look at as well as the suspension/link breakdown.. Thanks.

08 or 09 - too many updates on the 07. you wont have link problems on 08 or 09.

Stay away from the 07.
I had the same problem a while ago. The 07 are cheap, but for a reason. They have had problems, which can be solved with updates, but still you end up with a modified sled. Which is not a good feeling, even if it is a nice deal. Problems with the 07 were ice build up in tunnel, cooling issues, problems with starting and I am probably forgetting some. I was talking to a salesguy that was trying to sell me one and he mentioned that he had 11 recalls to do on the sled. If the 07 is dead cheap and you want an extra hobby, go for it. If you want a reliable snowmobile and no worries, go for the 08/09.
As far as the 08 or 09, the are more or less the same, apart from color and other details. The 08 RTX has a kinda weird color combination: white with grey (!) plastic. Looks like a penguin that swallowed a skippy ball if you ask me. The 09 are nicer, especially the black orange combo. This would probably have an effect on your future resale value too, so it might be worth the extra investment. Color is a question of personal taste though, so what you like is most important.
I guess what it boils down to is how much are you willing to spend.
Oh, if you're wondering, I ended up with a 09 Vector

id get a 09, i just cant figure nytro or phazer lol

You know if a guy could find a dealer to do ALL the updates a 07 would be a really good buy + you get a extra gallon of gas in tank.Who knows maybe the used 07 has all the updates already.Definitly worth looking into for that price.Definitly need to be informed though where with 09 or even 08 its pretty straightforward.

Have you guys experienced much difference with the suspension/fox shocks on the 09's. does it handle/corner any better than the 07/08's.
How much is the billet link replacement kit to buy and change out on the 07's... or will this be covered by yammi?

This should be covered. The fox suspension on my 07 is awesome, the floats are lighter than coils. If you can get a deal on the 07, have them print you a warranty/recall history. Make sure everything is done and see if they will enclose the tunnel for you.

08 or newer gt a plus, if you like to cruise at 80 and have something left over go with the nytro its not much heavier. Change out stock carbides or just use them up and expect to wear them out fast. Wind deflectors help when its cold. Phazers you will need to buy all the stuff the newer ones have if you buy the 07, get a newer one get on and go.
