I purchased the Yamaha Rear Heat Exchnager and new tunnel protectors for my 07 Attak GT. The downside is they did not come with any instructions. I have installed a rear Heat exchanger on my Warrior but did not need protectors at the time. For this set the new protectors come with brackets etc that I have no idea where they go. Can anyone help? thanks

Do a search; there's plenty of photos, I did the search this morning.

If you are studded make sure you have enough protection. Do a search with me as author. I had problems last year when the dealer installed mine. Topic covers off what not to do very well.

At least 1.5 inches. Most people put a slider piece over the aluminun protector.

I didn't mention last season I didn't have studs and only 7/8 in. protectors and the cooler did fine. But with the 1.325 Woody's GD's I figured I needed close too 1 1/2in. of protection after reading the posts here. What pushed me off the fence with BlackAttaks dealer OEM cooler install destruction of the cooler.
The lugs are soft on the Ripsaw so they bend more allowing the track and studs to get closer to the cooler it seems.

It is a OEM and same as '09 without the extended protectors 'cause I don't run studs...I installed it when the sled got home and diluted my coolant 50/50...

I figured how the protectors and the brackets mount. I went into a dealer and looked at an 09. The one set goes on the rail just in front of the cooler and the other set at the end of the rails. I took a few pictures on the blackberry and should be good. Blackattak thanks for the advice, I was wondering about that. I hit a large bump once last year and actually put a slight mark on the rear tunnel extension. If put this stuff on I will definitely need more protection. It makes it worse that they have grooved out the fins where the rails go making the cooler even closer. I will check out your other post.
