I'm putting Arctic Cat Skis on my '18 LTX DX. I have a question about the rubber snubbers. Yamaha calls them "stoppers" and Arctic Cat calls them "damper, ski-rubbers". If I use the Yamaha "stoppers", I will either have to force them (very hard), or trim some rubber off...or I could order the Arctic Cat "damper, ski-rubbers". I'm interested in how many of you installed the AC skis. Many Thanks

Get the Cat Rubbers. They work well on Cat and Doo Pilot skis.

Lift your sled with a floor jack, and put the rubbers in a pot of hot water, it will soften them to when you lower the sled onto the ski rubbers, the weight of the sled will push the spindles into the rubbers to put the bolts in.

I have done it both ways, and I wholly agree, get the Cat rubbers, they were designed for that sled and ski combination, and it makes installation very easy.

Wish I hadve known that! They were a pita getting the bolts through the holes even with all the weight on the skisLift your sled with a floor jack, and put the rubbers in a pot of hot water, it will soften them to when you lower the sled onto the ski rubbers, the weight of the sled will push the spindles into the rubbers to put the bolts in.

I purchased longer bolts from McMaster carr.
I ground a bevel or point on the end and can now align the holes with ease and tap the bolt through with no real issues.

The first set of AC skis I installed, I didn't use the AC rubbers, and I had to use leverage on the ski to twist and make the holes line up. With the AC rubbers, it is a pretty easy installation, and I think the whole thing, including mounting Snow Trackers, took me less than an hour, start to finish.Wish I hadve known that! They were a pita getting the bolts through the holes even with all the weight on the skis

Did this same thing to the stock bolt.I purchased longer bolts from McMaster carr.

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm trying to figure out the correct way to put arctic cat skis on a 2015 Viper. Their supposedly is no left or right ski, but the way the rubber is set in it, it has to accommodate the spacer on the spindle. On the Viper (at least mine) the spacer sits on the inside of the spindle, but on cats I've looked at I have seen them both ways. Can anyone who has put cat skis on their Viper post a picture? Or know the correct way? The attached pictures are both cats.

The spacer can go on either side. It is there so you can widen or narrow the ski stance.

Ok, thanks. So, then you just move the ski rubber accordingly? The other reason I questioned it was because I already put them on (with the spacer on the inside) and they were already way wider than with the stock tuners. But maybe the cat skis are just wider to begin with. I will swap them then with spacer on outside and call it good

Marc are you sure those are 6" skis? Possible you got wider skis then the trail 6" ?? The spacer should be on the OUTSIDEOk, thanks. So, then you just move the ski rubber accordingly? Just measured them. Must be 6" because it measured a tad under that in width. I guess I need to move the spacers themselves and swap sides (because the way the rubbers are on now they are accommodating the inside ) that skis are on currently.
