Installing Excell Exhaust, couple questions....

You have to pull ALL the plastic off the front, the headlight, the fuel tank, and the complete exhaust system off per the Excell instructions. It's more than just popping the seat off. I installed one in 07. FYI - its REALLY loud. I couldn't ride the sled without earplugs or I got a pounding headache, and the guys I ride with refused to ride with me - it was so loud.

It was that much louder then stock? I'm just in the process of putting my exhaust on and it has become a more involved project then I was inticepating. All the plastics are off, the fuel tank is off along with the seat and everything else.

Is the sled almost unrideable with the excell exhaust? This is the first time I've heard someone say it was really loud.

Thanks

I have ridden one with an excell on it before purchasing mine, it is not that loud.... if it is too loud for you, Excell makes quiet cores for it now, so you can change the sound level as well.... it sounds more like a throaty four stroke quad then stock, it is really not that loud..... but it is alot throatier.....

I road a phazer with excell for a whole day ... that is what made me want to buy one myself. It was not too loud ... the sound was sweet, a head turner sound and not in the bad way.

Just bought the ulmer clutch kit from excell... I asked about their exhaust for my 07 fx and mentioned that I've heard their exhaust is really loud...i was told that they put the quietest core (silencer) in the exhaust when they ship them...so I guess if you buy their exhaust there is no way to quiet it down..sucks because I would love to have that exhaust, but I HATE loud exhaust.. :die

Doesnt the Excell use discs? If so just remove them till its quiet enough.
