Interchangable Shocks?

Just wondering if the rear shock off of a Viper will fit an 03 RX-1 121" rear suspension? My stock steel shock needs to be replaced and I have an opportunity to replace it with an aluminum Viper shock if it will work. I would have to rebuild it anyway. Or does anyone have a new/never used OEM steel shock they would sell? How much? Just don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on new rebuildables. Any info/help would greatly be appreciated. Viper shock works good . You will need the washers thet go beside the shock ends . The viper er shock is much better than the steel one the came with it . I have one on my 03 much better ride.

Tom-RX-1, thanks for the info. When I have the viper shock rebuilt, will it need to be per viper or RX-1 specs? Or are they the same?

I got the er shock on warrentie when my rx1 shock died . IT worked good for me realy improved the ride . The rx1 specs would probably work as well . I have to get mine rebuilt as well this year I might try and get a fox float from a cat . very close to right length .
