Im looking into purchasing a apex, used. I test rode one yesterday, It had the hauck exhaust. It was extended to 144" from 121", using full 144" rails. The gearing was stock, I would be changing it if I was to buy.

Now When I was test riding it, it seemed to be a little boggy sometime down low. Like you would hit the throttle to go, and it would bog, then catch, then bog. So I would have to let off and try it again then it would go.

Does this sled need a controller to run its top? once in the upper rpm the sled ran top.

Sounds like you are a bit lean bottom end. Fuel controller would definatly help but you might be able to adjust your CO settings to fix the issue. Do a search on Co adjustments if your not familiar. Basically it controls your fuel mixture at low end only.

To get best performance you will most likley need a fuel controller. I had the same issue when I had the Bender race exhaust on my Apex. I went back to stock exhaust rather than spending a pile of more money to not get a big gain. My money was better spent on clutching and gearing. I doubt the adjustment you will get stock will be enough to compensate for the exhaust.

True clutching is the best upgrade, but if you want to spend the money and slowly increase the horsepower...Your money is better spent with Ulmer IMO. I have delt with both and the performance gains, and service are better with Allen IMO. Just my .02

whoa, you got a water/methanol kit on a nytro!!!! How does that thing run???
Hopefully she doesn't become a meth addict. LOL

Here you go.
Thank you, thats an easy thing to fix. I've found a few more posts on this after searching for a while. It seems to fix the issue for most.

And the exhaust s already in people, so im not wasting money on the exhaust Because its already installed.

I had that same exhaust and controller,it was a waste of money,i lost 2 mph,and it was a pig on fuel,i sold it the very next week, plus the noise was way to loud. best of luck.
