Is my track too loose? [pics included]

This is a brand new AC Power Claw 162, it's probably got about 100 miles on it now. The shop told me it would stretch some when new. I'm also running a Ski Doo skid from an '07 XRS.

Here's a pic of the track. This is with the back end hanging from the ceiling and I'm lightly pulling down on the track:

and, assuming it is too loose, I've never adjusted this skid before. Do I just take a wrench to these and thread in in this large bolt?

loosen the axle procede to tighten screws. run the track, check the tension and alignment.

as far as how tight you want it depends on what drivers you are running.

stock drivers.

See the big nubbins on the track by your hand in the first pic. Tighten the track equally untill the tops of those nubbens are at the bottom of your hyfax (the yellow plastic on rails). Do this with your track in the air supported by the rear bumper. Thats a pretty good place to keep the track. Loose but not so loose you will stab it.

Here is how loose mine is. I am un able to tighten it more do to stock rails and adjusters. The track is a 15x156x2.5 CE

thats too loose, buy a big wheel kit

can you here the track ratchet when you work in the deep stuff if not leave it. Just road with a POLAR PIG PILOT and he was set his tension that way too. Asked the other two I was with and thats the way they judge tension.

The problem i have is i am maxed out i can't adjust anymore. Any one have an offset axel and 8 inch wheels they need to get rid of?

I'd try it take it easy on it and take a quick tuning run. You'll HEAR it ratchet if you do look for an axle! I run mine close to that loose. Put 30km on today no ratcheting.

I don't think I've ever heard it ratchet. I was mostly worried about stabbing the track.

I have the same track and had the same issue, I just bought some used XP wheels and put them on. They don't extend too far below the hyfax and since most of my riding is in soft stuff I'm hoping its not going to present a problem. I am going to carry a track carpet though should I blow an axle.
