Is the FX model the base model? (08 Nitro)

Hi all.. Gonna be looking at a 08 Nitro FX with approx 1800 miles. Is the FX the base model? ie: no reverse and/or electric start?
Are there any other model specifics to be aware of?

I might be taking it in on a trade towards another one of my toys so i'm as serious as anyone looking for info before they commit...
I'm just wondering what features the FX had in 2008..

You guys have electric start? I have to remove the Yamaha emblem on the front of the hood and crank it over manually, while advancing the timing from the lever on the handlebars.

All 4 strokes have electric start, however I don't know if the model you are going to look at has reverse. It was an option though.

The four stroke is two much for a pull start and some have reverse some dont. The fx nytro came with two shock packages in 08 a Fx and a RTX. The RTX has better shocks. Read some of the many pages to get a idea of some problems. I had a 08 and have a 09 with no major problems. Hope this helps you out. Love my 09 !!!

I would pay to see a person pull over and start a 4 stroke!!!

On another note, I think going for a 09' would be a better purchase. It doesn't seem ppl have 1/2 the problems in that model than the 08'

I would have to say with the price of used 4 strokes (minus rx1s), might as well get a new one. I wanted to add a phazer to my collection, but have yet to see a used one under $4k for an 07, why bother? especially last year, apex mtn leftovers for 6k

stay away from the 08's. First year build with way to many issues. 09's feel like a totally different sled and seem to have a few of the bugs worked out
