Theres more members on dootalk, and alot more teens on there too so immaturity or texting style typing happen. I never found it to be an issue in the 5 years I've been on there or here.

Yep. Just to be clear, I wasn't bashing DooTalk or Ski-Doos. We own an '09 GSX E-TEC and I've found a wealth of information on that forum. I probably should have added a smiley emoticon to my post. In all seriousness though, the spelling and grammar errors from some people make posts very tiring to read.Maxout01 said:mbw919 said:An awful lot of them on DooTalk sure can't write very well. I hear ya, I just posted that cause being a long time member there I figured I'd clear it up so not to shy the OP away.
What do you think of the 09 doo compared to the yami you own??

Dootalk is not even close to TY4 in terms of maturity IMO. Here you get real discussion, there you get insults and giberish most of the time, or off topic rants.
And dare to bring up anything yamaha related there and just watch the Yammi hatred start flowing.......
TY4 is a great place

Yea, thats correct. Thanks for clarifying and backing me up, as another member felt the need to start something by saying skidoo owned dootalk. Really should have their facts straight before saying something they know nothing about.

All the forums are exactly the same. Every forum claims they dont bash the other brands nearly as much as X brand but much like brand loyalty the forum loyalty has equally blinding blinders.
AChat, Dootalk, TY,and Polaris Files (probably the least bashing but thats only cause its the smallest) will all have the exact same discussion if this question is posted on any of the sites. Dootalk actually has this same topic asking for a yamaha site and guess what? Everyone there replied with something along the lines of "there is no site like dootalk but you could try TY." I think the two threads are just trolls since they popped up the same time.

Well, I'll try to put it into words (not my strongest skill). They're both similar in their intended purpose of being deluxe trail cruisers, yet are different in many ways.Maxout01 said:What do you think of the 09 doo compared to the yami you own??
Handling: On trails, the Doo is way easier to steer and has never darted. The Vector is much better now with Deuce bars, but still not as easy to ride as the XP. Off trail, they both do OK but the XP is easier to move around on. I like sitting up higher on the XP. It makes it easier to go from sitting to standing. In all fairness, the '10 Vector LTX that I rode late last year would probably compare better to the XP than my older '06 does.
Suspension: Both do about equally well in the bumps when set up for the rider. Yamaha's mono seems to be more sensitive to set up changes, but at least it has lots of adjustment to try. The GSX XP doesn't have any damping adjustments but doesn't seem to need them either.
Engine Performance: Both make about 120 HP and are dead even in a drag race. Beyond that they're very different. The E-TEC is one very nice 2-stroke. It idles more like a 4-stroke and makes no smoke or smell. Throttle response is quick and clean all the time. I really like this engine, but absolutely love the Vector's engine. The torque pulls my arms much harder at any speed from 0 to 100+, and the sound is very addicting. The E-TEC gets about 4 MPG better.
Reliability: I honestly don't know yet. Both have been reliable for us, but I would bet money that the Yamaha would easily outlast the Doo if treated roughly. It's built strong and stout while the XP is built to be very light.
Odds & Ends: The Doo came with lots of nice storage and the Yamaha came with a tiny zippered pouch in the handlebar pad. I added a windshield bag and saddlebags to the Vector. Both machines are about equal when it comes to ease of maintenance. The auto fogging on the E-TEC is way cool.
Ok, I got a bit long winded because I can't ride now and I'm bored. They're both good sleds, just different.

Thanks, great review! Also I hear ya on the not riding and being bored.. We had 3-4" of rain sun-mon and it was 60 for two days. I'm down to grass and mud.. Only thing making it better is I've yet to find my new sled.. (which is why I asked for your opinions on your sleds, lol)

Dootalk is owned by skidoo.
Totallyamaha is privately owned
Since when?????
It is as private as TY
I can't believe the amount of mis-information some people put out on here
Sure you hate Doo but at least be truthful on the stuff you post and not start rumours....
