I’m looking to replace the jackshaft bearing on both sides. To replace the PTO side bearing does this arm have to come off? Looks like quite the job if it does.
I rely to much on YouTube and there isn’t a video on this step by step.
Thank you in advance!

No it doesn’t. Just heat around housing a bit and tap shaft with rubber mallet on gear case side.

Remove heavy duty retaining ring first. Lol
Usually don't need to even tap on it. Heat alum brace around bearing, usually you can just grab shaft and pull it right out.

Yeahhhh, that didn’t happen. Had to take the arm off. Put in the press and it was like a Bomb went off when the bearing came out. Thought the press broke in half.Remove heavy duty retaining ring first. Lol

It was smoking.. regardless, it’s changed now and was stuck hard to make the press jump off the floor. On to the stub shaft nextI've done at least 6. Maybe didn't heat it enough?

Pressed the shaft out of the bearing, then pressed the bearing out of the arm. That is when it took all the 12 ton to get it out and when it let go it jumped. Was like a bomb went off and thought the press was broke in half.SO u pressed the bearing off the shaft that will sometimes make the press jump ?

I usually get the bearing/ shaft out of the arm first then it's easier to get the shaft in my press. If you thought that was like a bomb went off wait till you press off the stub shaft bearing...Pressed the shaft out of the bearing, then pressed the bearing out of the arm. Oh man don’t tell me that! Any trick or tips would be greatly appreciated on the stub. This is all a new experience for me.I usually get the bearing/ shaft out of the arm first then it's easier to get the shaft in my press. To take out of crank I was going to use the clutch bold and clutch as a slide puller to remove. Then bring it to the press to push out bearing and put new one in.

I use the clutch bolt and my miners wrench like a slide hammer. The bearing/stub shaft come out of the housing quite easy. Doing it again I'd heat the bearing inner race with a torch hopeful that it would expand. (I did heat up the bearing inner race previously hut not as much as I should have). Just be prepared. I had my 12 ton press maxed out then it let go and scared the crap outta me. I was even prepared for it. I put on my helmet and protected my jewels.Oh man don’t tell me that! I think it was "big pussy" (member) who guided me through the freezing heating process. Worked like a charm.
Not so lucky on this new Snubshaft I have.

Redline1, I just bought one from EBay $200+/-.
Most won't just sell the shaft.
