JB Weld On heat exchanger??

jb weld on front cooler

2 years ago i put a stud thru my front cooler and i put jb weld on 4000 miles still going fine just clean good and 220 grit sandpaper i check once in a while looks like the day i put it on i had two 3 inch rips right thru no over heat problem on 40 warrior

Any one else with a good or bad jb weld story?

I have been hearing a lot of success stories with the jb weld but have never used it myself

I put a stud through my front heat exchanger this weekend and i was thinking about trying the jb weld or a comparable product.

The problem with JB weld is that you are putting it on an object that will expand and contract many times and not in tune with the JB. Thus it will eventually come apart.

Sled dog
i dont look at this as a permanent repair
but if it will hold for a season or 2 possibly even 3 i see it as an easy solution.

The way i see it is like this.
I lost 2 studs out of the track running in crappy snow conditions this past weekend. normally i would use my spare sled in the crappy conditions but a friend was using it.
I dont intend to remove and replace the track because of 2 studs pulling out. the track still has a lot of life left in it. with that said, i fully expect to lose a few more studs before the track gets changed.
In my eyes why do a full blown repair if you see the potential for a repeat of the same problem?
I am looking for a repair that will last till i need to replace the track. at that point i will change or weld the heat exchanger.
