Yes, it is for sure driving me craazy. It'll make it that much better when i do finally hop on the new beast. I have a feeling it will be a totally different experiance then my rx-1 was. Same power and 100+ lbs lighter......cant go wrong with that

And just think; you could have been tearing around the nieghborhood yesterday if you had it at home allready.
Billings didn't get near enough of a temp drop before the storm hit. Ground was still too warm for any accumulation until about 6PM Mon night. We ended up with about 4" on the grass and the roads had less due to the heat retention factor.

There's supposed to be more snow coming this week so King's Hill should be good to go by Sat. when the trails are legally open. Gonna be up doing some elk hunting next weekend and taking the beater sled to cruise around looking for tracks. Gotta remember that this early season snow is ''dealer snow'', as in lots of broken parts because of low snow depth and no base, so it's best to stay on trails that you're familiar with. By the way Powderhungry where are you from ? It's best to put that in your profile so people get some kind of idea who they're talking to, Ken.

Yea sorry guys im not actually from Great Falls........im going across boarder to pick my new sled up.......I couldn't justify paying an extra 3000-4000 for a sled in Canada.
Hows the snow around Montana anyways? Im taking off from the oil patch for a month in febuary to do a bunch of sledding and snowboarding, wouldn't mind trying out some new terrain around that area. Of course after I tour up and down the Canadian rockies.
LOL, of course while at work last night it snowed half a foot, and im stuck working in it.........when i should be playing in it on my new sled

Did you even give a Canadian dealer a shot at your new sled?
With $500 yamabucks, $900 instant rebate, no $200 import fee, 2 years of warranty, no 6.5% import duty ( depending on who you get at the border)
The savings is at most $1400 ( assuming no import duty and zero warranty). If you get charged the 6.5% you only save about $800. Doesn't seem worth the trip and no warranty. Personally I don't know any sledder who hasn't taken advantage of the warranty in the first year let alone having two years.
It's your money and your choice, but be aware that the savings being thrown around on this forum are grossly exaggerated. This misinformation is not fair to you the customer or to the local dealers who need your business in order to keep the doors open to provide service for you in the future.

I agree with T.Monkey. I shopped around and was surprised at the different prices. Locally, I seen the tag at $13,999., and within a few weeks, a freind picked it up for $12,999. I was waaaaayyyy below that mark on mine from a dealer out of town. One well known larger dealer was firm at $13,900. I said too much and finalized my purchased elsewhere , and an hour later this guy calls me back saying he can come down another $700. I told him still too much and an hour too late! So figure in the options buying in Canada such as your price discount (dealers did drop prices the past couple weeks) choice of 2 of the following- $500 Yami Cash, extra year of warranty, or 0% interest and no payments for a year. If you can run your budget right, the last one is great, as it leaves your money collecting interest....whatever and pay it in full next November, or make payments at about 9%. .
If your in Oliver, I can point you to where I bought mine, close which is close to you and no border b.s.

ps......nice sled, can't be easy looking at all that snow and waiting for your new sled.
FWIW
I bought in NY..no duty into Canada btw.
....I paid 9,300.00 CDN dollars for Nytro RTX
RIV 200.00
Total 9500........
"at most 1400"......I don't think so, not when I went to school.

You're missing the $500 yamabucks and the $900 cash off from Yamaha ( this program came out about 2 weeks ago), as well as the 2 year warranty. You are also quoting a specific deal, I am quoting MSRP US vs. MSRP Can. Whatever deal you can work with a dealer in terms of discount or service agreement is up to you, but at MSRP there is about $1400 difference.
I'm not trying to get into a p**** match over who's deal is better, just do your homework before you spend your money and give the local dealer a chance on the deal.

Well, the dealer in great falls is selling me the sled for 9500 US, which when our dollar was doing a lot better a couple weeks ago worked out to just over 9000 canadian to purchase the 9500. When i was talking to the dealer he was saying that roughly 9/10 people dont get charged the duty across the boarder.....soo we'll see what happens there. As far as gst and pst, im getting my brother who lives in calgary to bring it over so i will only have to pay the one tax on that.
No i didn't shop around in canada, to be honest i saw the canadian dollar doing good and jumped on it. I probably could have saved myself a little bit of hassle but, im not really too worried about it. Its a little too late to turn around now anyways, allready put money down.......and only got a short week off come december.......sooo i just wanna get my sled and get riding as soon as possable

Ummmmm one tax? When you register it, or want to insure it in B.C, you will have to pay the PST anyway. Let us know what happens at the border as far as the Duties, just for curiosity. Hope all goes well for you.
