Jumped ship

The sled does handle and ride alot better then the apex. No darting as I changed the skis, sled is the most comfortable on snow. Gas milage is same as apex, and my sled has been good. No problems and never broke a belt yet. I did alot of work on the fit and finish and I am now happy with that. This sled does rock. I cant stand the sound of it though. Close to my supercharged apex with 12psi and head shim. Still have to get the clutching dialed in and maybe meth injection. On the weekend in +5 on a groomed trail with slushy snow on top the best the other sleds would do is 98 mph including apexs on speedo. My sled did 118 mph on the speedo which is within 1 mph. That is awsome speed in these conditions. I hope yamaha steps up the game as I would some day love to be back. I call a spade a spade and this sled is the real deal when dialed in.

Not a big fan of the new AC look. Never have been a fan but to each their own. Fit and finish has always plaged Artic Cat but, i will say this there is always one or two models in their line ups that rip. They make a fast machine. If it weren't so butt ugly and was a 4 stroke then maybe I'd consider one... on the other hand I already have, they call them YAMAHAS!!!! Good luck with your sleds guys! ;)!

I personally like the looks of them, and was one of the reasons I bought it, well that and the fact it has a TURBOCHARGED FOUR-STROKE powerplant in it that makes 183 HP stock. Can't belive some of you guys don't know they are NOT 2 strokes. Must not get out much. :4STroke:

I like the orange.. Looks good..

Id have a hard time forking out the cash for that sled when its not much better if at all better than the apex.. doesnt ride that much better or handle that much better when pushed hard..

Ive said it before and will say it again.. a good setup apex is hard to beat..

......I beleive most guys no that sled is a 4stroke and maybe that guy made a mistake... If that sled is 183 hp stock then i have a very good running Apex !!!!!! must be 184 hp ...........

Good luck .............

I appologize for not recognizing artic cats four stroke model... I don't claim to know the latest and greatest from the last on the list of four manufacters of snow machines. I wouldn't care if that sled was nuclear powered and weighed 100 pounds its still one of the ugliest sleds I've ever seen... that being said I can give credit where credit is due... glad to see ac with a strong 4 stroke. wondering why they had to use a poweradder right off the rip... maybe Yamaha will go for some kind of sc or turbo if the cats have decent sale numbers...

we do aggree on one point though...

:4STroke:

um yeah I definitely don't get out as much as I'd like.... :tg:

Do you know the history of the engine? I know the old 3 cylinder suzukis were used in some industrial trucks. Just wondering if this is a purpose built sled engine.

Interesting point Sump... I wonder if they are taking a page out of the Yammi book and looking into Zuki's 4 stroke engines for future snow machines. Imagine a cat with the GSXR 1000 engine???! Now that would be a cool comparison!

Well , sold my 07 APEX last night and I am now going to ride the DOO that I bought this year untill Yamaha comes out with an improved APEX. I bought a hold over 800 REV Blizzard I did not want to buy a yellow sled and knew the dealer still had this one in the crate and I think the white looks a lot better. I have 400 miles only on it but like the sled a lot . IT does not have the power but the handling and the ditch riding is great.I would consider getting the new xp if they come out with a 800 e tec and it proves that it is reliable. I would like to thank everyone for your help that you have provided. Also this is the best site out there because of the great people like your selves . I will be back on another Yamaha but it looks like it will be 2011 because the 2010 do not make me want to buy.I will also leave feedback on the first DOO that I have ever owned .
