Well i threw a stud into my cooler on my last ride and we tore into it this weekend. I was a little suprised when i pulled the lower clutch side bear out and it was seized. We got it to loosen up a little bit but a 4600 miles i was suprised the bearing was that bad. Anybody else have this problem?

I lost my lower drive bearing at 10,004 miles.
One would think they would last longer than 4,600 miles.
I would give the dealer a call to see what he says.
I'm not crazy about these sealed bearings.

Just looked at mine at 3700 miles and was getting pretty dry, the jack shaft bearing did not look to bad. Packed them both with graese. Is it possible to pull the chaincase cover and pack that one on the drive shaft?

can you use the amsoil grease on these, I was thinking of pumping some in with a needle attachment . How did you do yours?rear2high said:Just looked at mine at 3700 miles and was getting pretty dry, the jack shaft bearing did not look to bad. Packed them both with graese. I just pride the seal out with a very small screw driver . Just poke it in on the inside edge and will pop right out. I also did my four idler wheels in the rear suspension as all were dry. I think I will pull the cover and gear and do that one also, as im sure that one looks like the other side unless grease from the chain case leaks in there.

The problem is that the water enter in the bearing. It make rust during the summer and it will leave you in trouble the next season...
It need to be replace or grease with a water resistant grease each year to avoid problem (had to be grease before the rust damage it). I personally grease mine at mid season and replace it each year.
here is a picture (need to be log in to see it) when i removed the seal at mid season on my first season... i had around 3200 miles at that time...

The bearing in my Warrior looked nearly the same as your pic.
I cleaned it out with brake parts cleaner and compressed air, then repacked it with fresh grease.

I want to thank you Guys, for the post , I just pulled mine and it had water in there, luckily no rust yet, So I packed it with grease and I am going to pull the chain case side and do the same.

well I went to do the chaincase side, and these appear to get oil from the chain case as there are no seals on the chain case side.

Is this true that the chaincase bearing or bearings get grease from the oil in there? Ive never herd this said before on the site.STORM-CHASER said:well I went to do the chaincase side, and these appear to get oil from the chain case as there are no seals on the chain case side.

Quick Instructions
Can someone give some quick instructions on where this bearing is and what needs to be removed to get to it for geasing.

underneath the secondary clutch where the speedometer gear is. That is the one you want!

They are not sealed on the chaincase side so the oil will splash them.
